The Resistance Is Still Resistant

Abu Obeida of Al Qassam (Hamas)

It's hard to follow the news from Palestine, imagine how hard it is leading the history? Yet all the fighting brigades of Palestine are still leading, still bleeding, and still not conceding. The Resistance is still resistant, after 600 days of the most brutal siege on a captive population. I don't know how they're doing it, but they're doing it.

This is not covered by the imperial media which wants you to be terrorized by the slaughter of civilians and not inspired by the resistance of militants. But we'll go through some of their operations of just last week, so you can see what leadership under fire really looks like.

Hamas and Al Qassam

In suppressed Palestine, the people's army has multiple brigades, each under a different political organization (Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah, etc). I have detailed the political groups and their militant wings in Who Is The Axis Of Resistance?

The Al Qassam Brigades are the armed wing of Hamas, and Abu Obeida is their spokesman. Abu Obeida is probably the most famous living member of Hamas, though we've never seen more than his eyes beneath his keffiyeh. Abu Obeida (thank God) still survives and is still eliminating the killers of children, women, and men (the 'Israelis' kill in that order, and generally run from men in the field). Just last week he released a message to the cowards, saying,

Our fighters, the heirs of the prophets, continue to hurl the "Stones of David" at "Gideon’s Chariots," striking down the arrogance of the occupation until it is vanquished. With their heroism, they inscribe the triumph of the faithful and oppressed over the arrogant and tyrannical.

The losses inflicted upon the occupation today in Khan Younis and Jabalia are but a continuation of a series of precision operations—a model of what awaits the occupying forces wherever they set foot. The enemy public has only two choices: force their leadership to end this genocidal war or prepare to receive more of their sons in coffins.

Let's look at the operations Abu Obeida is talking about, via the Resistance News Network (RNN):

Details of the special operation that resulted in the deaths of 4 IOF soldiers and wounding of 5 others east of Khan Younis at dawn: The IOF entered west of Bani Suheila in eastern Khan Younis last night. At 6:10 AM, an explosive was detonated on an IOF force that entered a building, resulting in its collapse. The IOF began bombing the surrounding area while recovering the bodies, and the recovery process took over 6 hours. Neither drones nor military dogs, or specialized equipment were able to detect the explosives before the force entered the building.”

The battle of Khan Younis heard from the refugee camps

In this video, you can hear the battle from the refugee camps and see the helicopters evacuating those not sent to hell already.

The losses were confirmed by enemy media, at least 4 IOF killed and 5 wounded. This is nothing compared to the hundreds of innocents 'Israel' slaughters or starves every day, but remember that we are talking about guerrilla warfare, and that cowards have a much lower tolerance for pain.

As the martyr philosopher Basil Al-Araj said, “Our direct human and material losses will be much greater than the enemy's, which is natural in guerrilla wars that rely on willpower, the human element, and the extent of patience and endurance. We are far more capable of bearing the costs, so there is no need to compare or be alarmed by the magnitude of the numbers.”

I must admit that I am alarmed, but the point is that Hamas (via Al Qassam) is still resisting. The guerrilla army may not look like it's winning, but it has not lost, and as Henry Kissinger said, “the guerrilla wins if he does not lose. The conventional army loses if it does not win.” Or as the modern internet saying goes, one guerrilla really is stronger than 100 men.

After 600 days of brutal siege, after nearly complete decapitation of their leadership, and with no strategic depth besides underground, Al Qassam can still execute ‘precision operations.’ Whenever the IOF sets foot in Gaza, they get sent back in coffins. During the same week Al Qassam also reported, eliminating two Zionist soldiers from point-blank range on Al-Nazzaz Street,” “targeted a military bulldozer of type D9 with a Yassin 105 shell yesterday, Saturday, south of Khan Younis city,” and mortar shelling across the battlefield. I honestly do no understand how, but the Resistance is still resistant.

Describing the impetus, impact, and import of these operations, Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri said,

The recent operations by the Al-Qassam Brigades against the occupation army forces in the Gaza Strip come as retribution for the blood of our children and women and our destroyed homes. In revenge for our people who live in harsh and bitter conditions and as retribution for their precious blood, Al-Qassam continues daily to inflict heavy losses on the enemy, with its most prominent operations today being in Khan Younis and Jabalia. Al-Qassam's operations forced the head of the occupation government, war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, to say: "Today is a sad and difficult day." These operations are a response to the occupation's crimes, and retribution for the blood of our children and women and our destroyed homes.

It is time for the world to act, not with words but with actions, to stop this ongoing genocide, end the occupation, and guarantee our people's right to life, freedom, and dignity on their land. The international community's silence is no longer justifiable, and what is required today is a clear stance: Stop the killing, lift the siege, and restrain the aggressor's hand.

At this point, it shocks me when people still refer to Hamas as a terrorist organization. Al Qassam is hitting exclusively military targets while the IOF hits almost exclusively civilians. Since when did we let obvious terrorists define terrorism? Just look at the ruins these men have to fight through, and the oppression their people live under. Hamas are clearly freedom fighters, and being told you must slander them as terrorists is part of the oppression you live under.

Saraya Al Quds

Hamas is but the vanguard of the Palestinian Resistance, which is a broad peoples movement. These are not terrorists, these are terroirists, people of the land. Also in the vanguard is Saraya Al-Quds, the brigade of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Also just in the last week (which I'm selecting arbitrarily), they conducted several notable operations. This is not recorded in the western news, but will be recorded in the history they don't write anymore, cause they're losers.

For example, Saraya Al Quds reported that, in Jabalia camp, We trapped a zionist force that had fortified inside a house in a tight ambush, during which we detonated reverse-engineered explosive devices and shells yesterday, Friday, in the Tal al-Zaatar area east of Jabalia camp.” Here is the operation with video.

Just look at the humble (reverse-engineered) weapons these men must muster, and the ruins they must fight through, not to mention their own physical privation. And yet still they resist. It is truly as the Quran said, “Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, and they have not changed in the least.” These men live their faith, which also says, “Do not relent in the pursuit of the enemy. If you are suffering hardships, they too are suffering similar hardships, but what you can hope for from God, they cannot. God is all knowing and wise.”

Just yesterday (June 8), Saraya Al Quds reported another operation.“Our fighters in the Al-Yamoun unit managed to prepare an explosive device containing 7 kilograms of KJ37-type explosives. Our fighters skillfully prepared it using tactical means and were able to detonate the device along the path of enemy vehicles in the Al-Hamama axis, confirming direct hits on enemy vehicles.

In this video, you can see the menacing machines coming out of the haze of devastation, then the men in clothes like you and me carrying a barrel bomb through the ruins of what was once human habitation. They lay the trigger, wait, and somehow have the power of observation to see the detonation. Compare this to the 'Israelis' delivering American bombs to refugee camps from a computer screen. It really is unspeakable evil against unbelievable bravery.

How do these heroes amidst the horror keep supplied with explosives when even food, water, and healthy air is denied? One way is “reverse-engineered explosive devices and shells” from the multiple Hiroshimas worth of western munitions the 'Israeli' delivery boys having been dropping. See, for example, this Al Jazeera report on 170 kg of explosive that Saraya Al Quds seized (I got the news on May 31st via RNN, dunno when it happened).

As RNN said, “A Saraya Al-Quds leader told Al-Jazeera: “The explosives were in preparation for a security operation by 'Israeli' special forces or their agents in the Tuffah neighborhood. Explosives are now activated and ready for use, awaiting the occupation's incursion into eastern Gaza.” These may be some of the repurposed explosives we saw returned to sender above. Someway, somehow, the people's army of Palestine remains resistant to occupation, in seemingly impossible conditions. The Resistance is doing this every day, whether we pay attention or not. Indeed, our attention is an effect of their hard work, paid for with their own precious blood.

Axis Of Resistance

These are just a few operations from two brigades. During the same week the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades (of the PFLP) and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade (Fatah) reported operations, and the Mujahideen Movement offered a great martyr in Dr. Asa'd Abu Sharia, along with his brother Ahmed. In response to the martyrdom of the leader of a different faction, Hamas noted that Dr. Abu Sharia offered 5 of his brothers and 150 of his family members as martyrs since October 2023. They highlighted his founding of an Islamic resistance in Palestine, leaving his fingerprints on the struggle while calling for unity.”

What's notable here is the immense sacrifice of these fighting men, who live and die with their people, and the unity of the fields, which is still holding. After serious infighting (mainly between Fatah and Hamas), ‘unity of the fields’ was a theoretical concept. Since October 7th, however, the Resistance has closed ranks and held firm. No one has broken ranks, despite immense pressure to collaborate or just give up. All the brigades are still fighting, still fighting together, and—most importantly—not fighting each other.

The regional Axis Of Resistance has also taken major losses but not given up. Yemen, in particular, has achieved historic victories, defeating the US Navy in the Red Sea, shutting down 'Israel's southern port, and is now regularly targeting occupied Lod Airport. Meanwhile Iran just announced a major intelligence operation as “Iran national TV says Iran has obtained a significant cache of strategic and sensitive Israeli intelligence data, including 1000s of documents related to Israel’s nuclear projects & facilities.” As long as the Axis of Resistance has praxis it persists, and the wider Axis is still resisting. This forms the strategic depth for the Palestinian forces that are fighting out of a concentration camp on behalf of an occupied region and, indeed, world.

The Strategic Picture

The context of the Kissinger quote

The late, great Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said, “we consider all borders throughout the Muslim world as fake and colonialist, and therefore doomed to disappear.” This perspective allows us to fill out the late, awful Henry Kissinger quote from above. The fuller quote is,

The North Vietnamese and Viet Cong, fighting in their own country, needed merely to keep in being forces sufficiently strong to dominate the population after the United States tired of the war. We fought a military war; our opponents fought a political one. We sought physical attrition; our opponents aimed for our psychological exhaustion. In the process, we lost sight of one of the cardinal maxims of guerrilla war: the guerrilla wins if he does not lose. The conventional army loses if it does not win.

Kissinger uses ‘military’ in the western sense, meaning ‘strategic’ bombing of mostly civilians. But broadly you can see the strategic conundrum 'Israel' is in. They are colonizers fighting in other peoples' land, now completely dependent on America, which historically gets tired of every war. 'Israel' has to eliminate all resistance to survive, but they can't eliminate this Resistance, and their brutal actions just sow the seeds for more orphan armies to come.

You can say that after 600 days the Resistance cannot stop 'Israel', but at the same time after 600 days, 'Israel' cannot stop the Resistance. Hamas et al are still undisputed the leaders of Gaza and the moral leaders of the Muslim world. Meanwhile 'Israel' is now hated the world over.

PEW Research. WTF is going on in Nigeria and Kenya

This bloodless support, of course, doesn't matter, until it does. As Ho Chi Minh said in 1956, almost 20 years before the end of Vietnam's American War,

Our present political struggle is a long, hard and complex one, but it will certainly be victorious. Victory is certain because our cause is just, our people are closely united and of one mind, our fellow-countrymen in both South and North are struggling with heroism, the peoples of the world are supporting us and the world peace movement is growing stronger every day, while the imperialists’ warlike schemes have suffered ever more serious failures.

This is the broad strategy of all resistance movements against White Empire, as Hamas is certainly aware of. Resistance is persistence, and there will be blood.

'Israel' is already a lost cause, and this is because of the armed resistance. All the protests and speeches about Palestinian freedom are effects of Palestinian freedom fighters bleeding in the dirt, week in and week out. Power concedes nothing without a demand, and these people are insistent. Still they persist in lighting the stormtroopers up, long after most of us find it exhausting to even pay attention.

Note that I don't know the dates of all these operations, so I roughly date the week by when I heard the news on the Resistance News Network (RNN). You can follow them on Telegram @PalestineResist for daily (really hourly) updates.

Also, I have collected historical writing and speeches from the Resistance into a book called Reading Resistance.
