The Gaza Ceasefire According To Hamas et al
The only source I trust about the Resistance is the Resistance, led by Hamas. So here are some Resistance statements on the eve (inshallah) of a ceasefire-final-final-final.docx, followed by my opinion, which is extraneous.
The Palestinian Resistance
Hamas
This is the press release from Hamas as a body (which still exists and was still bodying IOF yesterday):
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Following responsible and serious negotiations conducted by the Movement and the Palestinian resistance factions regarding President Trump's proposal in Sharm El Sheikh, aimed at achieving a halt to the war of extermination against our Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip; the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announces reaching an agreement that stipulates ending the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupation from it, the entry of aid, and the exchange of prisoners.
We highly appreciate the efforts of the mediating brothers in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, and we also value the efforts of US President Donald Trump aimed at permanently stopping the war and the complete withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.
We call upon President Trump, the guarantor states of the agreement, and various Arab, Islamic, and international parties, to compel the occupation government to fully implement the requirements of the agreement, and not allow it to evade or procrastinate in applying what has been agreed upon.
We salute our great people in the Gaza Strip, in Al-Quds and the West Bank, and inside and outside the homeland, who recorded unparalleled positions of glory, heroism, and honor, and confronted the fascist occupation projects that targeted them and their national rights; these great sacrifices and stances thwarted the plans of the “israeli” occupation for subjugation and displacement.
We affirm that the sacrifices of our people will not be in vain, and that we will remain faithful to the covenant, and will not abandon our people's national rights until freedom, independence, and self-determination are achieved.

Hamas leader Zaher Jabareen, Head of the Martyrs and Prisoners office in Hamas (via RNN Prisoners):
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In the context of the ongoing agreement for a ceasefire and cessation of aggression against our people in Gaza, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirms that it has submitted the lists of Palestinian prisoners according to the criteria agreed upon within the framework of the agreement.
We await the final agreement on the names, preparatory to announcing them to our people through the Prisoners' Information Office, immediately upon the completion of the relevant procedures and understandings.
Hamas renews its pledge to our brave prisoners and their families that they will remain at the core of its priorities, and it will not rest until the last prisoner enjoys freedom.

Hamas political bureau member Izzat Al-Rishq (via RNN):
The ceasefire is the fruit of the great sacrifices, the legendary patience of our people, and the strength and steadfastness of the resistance.
This agreement stems from our historical responsibility towards our great people, our commitment to our legitimate rights, and is a culmination of the achievement of our resistance on the Seventh of October.
The aggression cessation agreement is a national achievement par excellence, embodying the unity of our people and their adherence to the option of resistance as a way to confront the zionist occupation.
In all stages of the negotiations, our eyes and hearts were with our people in Gaza; those pure blood and great sacrifices have a covenant of redemption and loyalty.
What the occupation failed to achieve through genocide and starvation over two full years, it did not succeed in achieving through negotiation.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Saraya Al Quds)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The agreement reached on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange with the zionist enemy was not a gift from anyone. Although we do not deny the Arab and international efforts, we emphasize the immense sacrifices made by our Palestinian people, and the courage and valor of their fighters in the field who confronted the enemy forces and showed unprecedented bravery in combat; without this, the resistance would not have been able to stand as a strong equal at the negotiating table.
In these historical moments, our people will not forget their great martyrs who played the most important role in keeping the resistance steadfast and reaching this crucial juncture where it could conclude the agreed-upon terms to force the enemy to halt the aggression.
Glory to all the martyrs, and victory to our people.

Mujahideen Movement:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The achievement of the ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners with the enemy is the fruit of the steadfastness, patience, and sacrifices of our proud Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who thwarted the plans for displacement and the liquidation of the cause, and stood firm against two years of genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes.
We commend the bravery and sacrifices of the resistance factions who stood firm and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, defending their people and their cause. Their struggle and the steadfastness of our people were an essential pillar in achieving this agreement, by the grace of God.
While we praise the efforts of the mediators (Egypt, Turkey, Qatar) to achieve the agreement, we call upon the mediators and guarantors to compel the enemy to adhere to the terms of the agreement, as it is accustomed to procrastination and breaking covenants.
In these historical moments, we remember the righteous martyrs of our people and their leaders who ascended in this battle and who played a prominent role in the steadfastness of our people and the achievement of this agreement.
Mercy for our righteous martyrs, healing for our wounded, and freedom for all our brave prisoners.

The ceasefire agreement is a first step toward ending the genocide, and the steadfastness of our people and their valiant resistance broke the zionist war machine and imposed the agreement.
The achievement of a ceasefire agreement and the start of implementing its first phase is considered an important accomplishment and a first step on a long road toward ending the suffering of our people. The time has come for the genocide to stop. This is the fruit of the legendary steadfastness demonstrated by Gaza and our Palestinian people, the immense sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners, and the resilience of the valiant resistance that confronted the aggression until the last moment.
We extend a salute of pride and honor to our people in the homeland and the diaspora, and to our martyrs, wounded, prisoners, and missing persons, who embodied the finest examples of sacrifice and steadfastness. Our people have endured what no other people have endured, and despite the destruction, massacres, and starvation, the occupation failed to achieve its goals and reaped nothing but disappointment, shame, and isolation.
Since the start of the aggression until the moment the agreement was signed, the Front has continued its efforts without pause, coordinating with all Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic forces, in order to reach this moment when the zionist war machine stops. The Front will remain alongside our people during this difficult and pivotal stage of their history, continuing its role in supporting their steadfastness and struggle until their national goals are achieved.
We highly value the efforts of the brothers in Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and all other Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the positions and actions of the free nations and peoples of the world who rejected the continuation of the massacres and sought to stop them, whose efforts contributed to reaching this agreement. We particularly appreciate Egypt's firm stance rejecting displacement and supporting the steadfastness of our people on their land.
The current agreement broke the zionist 'noes' and goals. It is the possible option under the current circumstances, and its success is linked to the occupation's commitment and clear American guarantees that prevent procrastination. Our goal now is to continue working to end the war of genocide definitively, achieve a comprehensive withdrawal from the Strip, break the siege, and end the suffering of our people.
We are working with all factions, under Egyptian auspices, toward a comprehensive national dialogue that opens a new horizon for building a unified strategy based on the constants and historical rights of our people to confront the next stage, and to rebuild our national institutions on the basis of partnership to face all challenges.
We reject foreign guardianship and affirm that the administration of Gaza must be purely Palestinian, with Arab and international participation in reconstruction and recovery.
The world today stands by us and supports our right to freedom and self-determination. Global action and the pursuit of the occupation and its leaders must continue even after reaching a ceasefire agreement, so that Palestine remains alive in the conscience of the world until the occupation is removed.

Opinion
In my opinion, unbidden, I support the Resistance without reservation. They are all hailing this ceasefire so all hail. I don't think Trump made this deal, the Resistance made the whole Empire pay, so now they have to deal with it. It's important to understand that Hamas et al have offered this sort of deal since October 8th, that was always the plan. A POW exchange, the thousands 'Israel' holds for any 'Israelis' they haven't Hannibalized already. That's all that was ever on the table and that's all 'Israel' gets in the end. Through unbelievable struggle and loss, the Palestinian Resistance was steadfast. The Resistance was lighting 'Israeli' troops up until yesterday, it truly was a ceasefire on both sides, not a surrender.
People focus on the execrable, edited text Trump released, but Trump's words are worthless. What followed was negotiations, based on the clear line Hamas set up, again, from October 8th, “a halt to the war of extermination against our Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip; the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announces reaching an agreement that stipulates ending the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupation from it, the entry of aid, and the exchange of prisoners.” Hamas has said they won't lay down arms and they weren't supposed to have arms in the first place, these words are irrelevant. What remains is facts on the ground.
October 7th, as Hamas details in their document Our Narrative, flipped the table on Oslo, on decades of surrender and the slow disappearance of Palestine via negotiations that 'Israel' never keeps and which America cannot mediate, because they're the same White Empire underneath. What Hamas did on October 7th was change the narrative, and global public opinion has shifted beneath everyone's feet. As the martyr commander Abu Khalid Al-Deif said then, “Rather, it is possible for us to advance, and there will be some kind of initiative, such that we can change the course of history and be the first in this period of time, and achieve one of God's days when the banners are raised”. Is that day today? No. But it is within reach. With the walls of the Gaza concentration camp, history has been breached.
'Israel' was defeated on October 7th and has only existed on full imperial life support since then. And all the White Empire's horses and all the Empire's men could not put that dumpster fire back together again. They had to sue for peace in the end. And 'Israel' has taken massive political damage, and multiple Western governments have fallen or are falling. 'Israel' is cracked and the whole White Empire is cracking. Hamas's founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin predicted the demise of 'Israel' by 2027 and he looks prophetic.
We are in a situation, historically, like Vietnam after the Tet Offensive. As Nixon's Court Jew, Henry Kissinger said then,
By opting for military victory through attrition, the American strategy produced what came to be the characteristic feature of the Vietnamese war: military successes that could not be translated into permanent political advantage...
The North Vietnamese and Viet Cong, fighting in their own country, needed merely to keep in being forces sufficiently strong to dominate the population after the United States tired of the war. We fought a military war; our opponents fought a political one. We sought physical attrition; our opponents aimed for our psychological exhaus- tion. In the process, we lost sight of one of the cardinal maxims of guerrilla war: the guerrilla wins if he does not lose. The conventional army loses if it does not win...
For all these reasons, the Tet offensive marked the watershed of the American effort. Hence-forth, no matter how effective our actions, the prevalent strategy could no longer achieve its objectives within a period or with force levels politically acceptable to the American people.
Vietnam took heavy losses in the Tet Offensive and was pushed back, but for the American occupation, that was the beginning of the end. They had military might but lacked political will and moral right (the appearance of which makes marshalling the former possible). America's hard power is still effective against children but the act of killing so many children has blown their soft power out of the water. And that was the cheapest and most effective form of power! Supporting 'Israel' is no longer politically acceptable to Americans, insomuch as they matter. They don't, of course, but now America becomes much more unmanageable internally, as it did during Vietnam. That was the start of their long retreat from the world (the last time they could conscript an army) and this is the end, inshallah.
The Resistance is not unaware of this, the beast that slouches towards Bethlehem to be born makes its shells in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (actually Scranton now, but shut up). That's where the pressure needs to applied and everybody knows by now, if you pressure America enough, they give up. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah—the great martyr whose words I miss daily—said this in 1992,
The long-term strategy of the Islamic Resistance is clear and does not require additional explanation. It involves fighting against Israel and liberating Jerusalem, as well as Imam Khomeini’s proposal—namely, ending Israel as a state. The fact that we are engaged in an existentialist battle with Israel is an honor for us, as is the fact that the Israeli enemy deals with Hezbollah on that basis. We view the Israeli enemy with a different eye—namely, that its very existence in the region poses a constant threat to Lebanon as a whole, even if it withdraws from the frontier zone.
We are not unrealistic. We do not pretend that our military capabilities and the numbers of our mujahidin would be enough to regain Jerusalem; none of us have ever made that claim. We do, however, believe that the resistance has to finish the job it started. It is impossible for us to fight the Israeli enemy through traditional and classical methods, but rather [we must fight] through a war of attrition, whereby we drain its energy, weaken it, then one day force it to withdraw.
Nasrallah said this over 30 years ago. You can go back and read Ho Chi Minh and he's saying the same things for decades. Neither lived to see liberation, but they saw it more clearly than anyone! This is what resistance is, this is the price they make you play, blood sacrifice to the war gods, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. Resistance is persistence, and the Palestinian Resistance has been persistant, irritated and attriting Empire to the end. Remember that the guerrilla does not have to keep the initiative, they just have to take it, and remain in position to take it again. Hence the maxim, the guerrilla wins if he does not lose. The conventional army loses if it does not win.
With that context, look at the ceasefire again. Regardless of the words on paper, which we know are worthless from colonizers, who is signing them? It's Hamas, which 'Israel' pledged to eliminate, but instead Hamas eliminated them. This agreement is really between Hamas and America, the final boss of colonialism. Somehow this group of besieged men in tunnels faced the wrath of the entire White Empire for two years and did not bend. They were firing to the end and the ceasefire had to come from them. Firing what, firing how, I have no idea, but they did. They did not lose. Thus they win. And what do they win, what are they fighting for in the end? I'll let the martyr Yahya Sinwar, the architect of this great historical hinge say it himself,
A life as Palestinians, of course. Head high. Always. Despite it all, I hope they will be strong, and keep on struggling till the day they get freedom and independence. Because I want my kids to dream of becoming doctors not to treat only the wounded, but cancer patients. Like all of the kids of the world. I want them to be safely Palestinians, so that they can be much more than Palestinians.
