Why Hypersonic Missiles Are A Game Changer
Previously, we discussed how smart missiles are the smartphones of dumb war. Now we'll discuss hypersonics, the smartest missiles. Hypersonic literally means a speed, travelling 6,000 to 12,000 KPH. Hypersonics also evade air defenses, they come in low and squirrelly. Hypersonics are like asteroids powered by supercomputers. A MIRV hypersonic can have six independently targeted re-entry vehicles. In cricket terms, this is like a fast bowler and a spin bowler who can bowl a full over in one toss. This is unstoppable. America is out for a (sitting) duck.
Today Russia, China, Iran, and Yemen have hypersonic missiles and America does not. The most advanced hypersonic used in anger is the Oreshnik from Russia. This missile can skim space, reach speeds of Mach 11, and split into six independently targeted warheads. It is made of some unknown alloys that can withstand such heat and looked like the glowing farts of Zeus when it obliterated a factory in Ukraine. It is unstoppable and, depending on what it's armed with, devastating.
An Oreshnik could hit Berlin in 11 minutes and London in 20 (and God knows they deserve it). The warheads can be nukes, to add annihilation to injury. This is an ungodly weapon that should be banned and was banned until Trump unilaterally pulled out of the missile control treaty. Now Russia has responded and they're proliferating the technology. Vladimir Putin updated Russian military doctrine to say that NATO can't hide behind Ukraine anymore, and also said ‘if you're going to arm my enemies, I'll arm your enemies,’ ie Yemen and Iran.
Speaking about Oreshnik, specifically, Vlad said,
It goes without saying that when choosing, if necessary and as a retaliatory measure, targets to be hit by systems such as Oreshnik on Ukrainian territory, we will in advance suggest that civilians and citizens of friendly countries residing in those areas leave danger zones. We will do so for humanitarian reasons, openly and publicly, without fear of counter-moves coming from the enemy, who will also be receiving this information.
Why without fear? Because there are no means of countering such weapons today. Missiles attack targets at a speed of Mach 10, which is 2.5 to 3 kilometres per second. Air defence systems currently available in the world and missile defence systems being created by the Americans in Europe cannot intercept such missiles. It is impossible.
This is a game changer, and because America has been dumb enough to unite everyone in Asia against it, it changes the three chess games America has going at once. At this point, we should just call all this fighting World War III, since all the fronts have connected and the genocide is in full blood. The only comfort is that America has brought a World War II army to a World War III missile fight and is just a luxury terrorist force now. They can bomb apartment buildings and refugee camps, but cannot destroy any serious military, peer or peasant.
America doesn't admit it (the propaganda department is the only thing they haven't outsourced) but their military is no longer the strongest in the world. They lost to Afghanistan and Yemen. The US military is certainly not stronger than Russia, Iran, China, and the Axis of Resistance combined, and it's absolutely not strong enough to invade all of them at once. I'm not saying any of these militaries could invade America, but nobody wants to. The Resistance just wants America to fuck off, and now they have fuck-off weaponry.
The strategic calculus—acknowledged dimly among retired generals if not its octogenarian politicians—has changed. America's operating bases in West Asia (Europe) are not secure, its bases in the Middle East are under attack, and they daren't set foot near Taiwan. Assets have become liabilities, strengths have become weaknesses, and their leadership is incredibly dumb. America still holds a nuclear gun to the world's head, but even that's looking rusty. Its Minutemen program is 62 years old and will cost $150 billion to replace, which in US accounting might as well be a trillion over infinity.
The US military was formidable last century but everything depreciates, even the mightiest armies. Meanwhile America's enemies have superior new technology which is evolving rapidly, and they're sharing notes. The game has changed, and the only thing America can do is flip the nuclear table. Let's hope, inshallah, they're not able, for all of us. Hypersonic missiles are a game changer, but what do we win? The meek will inherit the earth, but what do we get, in the end? A bloody ruin, left by a petulant power that has already kicked up enough dust to trash the whole ecosystem.
