I find it hard to write in comfort, as people writhe in hunger, despite having it easiest of all. What galls the most is that this is all intentional. In 2021, the US and 'Israel' were the only countries to vote against food as a human right. Now you can see why. Just another sign of intent to the long genocide we're witnessing.

White Empire ('Israel', America, UK, same thing) uses food as a weapon, and won't disarm for anybody. They're not content to merely bomb, they want to starve them to death. This has been the history of colonization again and again, starving millions in Bengal, millions in the Americas, millions in Africa. Wherever the false profit rears its head, famine is waiting in the wings. In the picture of the Four Horsemen, Famine comes bearing scales. It's profitable. This is the genocidal violence White Empire is built on, and 'Israel' is just its final avatar (God willing). They have turned Gaza into an extermination camp, while their media still claims extenuating circumstances. History will not absolve them. But history will also not feed anybody in the present.

Genocide is worse than homicide because it kills you at a higher level of being. It kills you culturally. Feeding people is deep in human culture, though not capitalist culture, where food is just another thing you buy. One of the first phrases I learned in Tamil (my wife's language) was ‘have you eaten?’ It's basically a greeting, and if the person hasn't, you need to do something about it. Feeding people, especially children, is life. Denying people that right is deeply killing them inside. I think as a parent, when my children say they're hungry, everybody in the house scrambles to satisfy. I think if I could not feed them, and I feel like crying. This is genocide. They don't just kill you. They take your cultural capacity for life.

It doesn't make the headlines, but the deadline is nigh. 'Israel' has cut off food for over months now, bodies are just shutting down and people are falling down and dying. Almost everyone is nearing the point of irreversible malnutrition. Every child is somehow stunted for life, not to mention traumatized. This is obviously a plan, executed, strategized, and timed. They're checking the days off a calendar, trying to drain years, centuries out of Palestinian life. As the 'Israeli' general (retired Giora Eiland said) “Israel must therefore not provide the other side with any capability that prolongs its life” and “severe epidemics in the south of the Gaza Strip will bring victory closer and reduce casualties among IDF soldiers.” This is called the general's plan and they're executing it with full imperial support. Of course they are, this is how America was ‘won’ and Europe was unimpoverished. It's Colonialism 101.

Comfortable people, with bottled water and snacks, are having meetings about how long it takes a human body to shut down, and executing that. There is a literal deadline, they've drawn a line around this population, and they want them to die. This isn't just 'Israel', that's an artificial line. This is the whole White Empire, Britain flying the surveillance flights, America and Germany supplying the arms, France along for the ride, Egypt blocking the border from that side, and every other Arab leader trading the hereafter for humiliation in this life. I usually turn to Abu Obeida (of Al Qassam/Hamas) for reassurance, but now even he sounds mournful in his last missive. He said,

We say this to history—with all bitterness and pain—and in front of all the sons and daughters of our nation: O leaders of this Islamic and Arab nation, O its elites and major parties, O its scholars—you are our adversaries before Almighty God. You are the adversaries of every orphaned child, every grieving mother, every displaced, homeless, wounded, devastated, and starving person. Your necks are burdened with the blood of tens of thousands of innocents who were betrayed by your silence.

Today, the Ministry of Health in Gaza says, “Unprecedented numbers of starving people of all ages are arriving at emergency departments in a state of severe exhaustion and fatigue. We warn that hundreds whose bodies have wasted away will face certain death due to hunger and their bodies' endurance capacity being exceeded.” I honestly can't bear to read it, I can't stare to write it, but it's happening. I swear to God I'm also dying inside (a coward dies many times). I look around the mall and I see rubble, I look at my children and I see them starving, I sit through every happy moment with this ache inside. We go on living, but what are we doing? People are dying. Not just dying, being killed. Not just being killed, being genocided.

Bearing witness is useless, only those who bear arms are actually doing something. Genocide is only stopped by armed intervention, and all the hand-wringing ain't it. This is the most documented genocide and still people with real power aren't doing shit. Only the least comfortable people (Palestine, Yemen, Iran, Hezbollah) are doing their part, while those with comfort won't give up an iota. It truly is easier for camel to go through a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. Same goes for countries, which can all go to hell as far as I'm concerned. There's an overwhelming desire to stop this suffering in all countries (except 'Israel', where the Jews have gone full genocidal), but something is overwhelming that, some combination of blackmail and whiteness (this ain't their first genocide). And so we watch, helplessly, and they want us to watch.

As Gustavo Petro said, shaming White Empire without quite naming it, “The European Union, the United Kingdom and above all the United States—they all support dropping bombs on people because they want to teach a lesson to the entirety of humanity. They are telling us: look at our military power. What happens to Palestine can happen to any of you if you dare to make changes without our permission.”

This is it, in the end, at their end, inshallah. They are killing children to stop the future from coming. It won't work in the long run, but in the short run, people are dying. The future comes unbidden, but with a million people as human sacrifice, that didn't have to die. They cannot kill the future, but they can certainly kill the children now. Not to mention the elders, the adults, and the land itself. As well as their own souls for what that's worth to them, which is apparently nothing. What does it profit a man to sell his soul and gain the world? A lot, actually, but not for long. That's what I tell myself, usually, the historical view, where the Resistance is surely winning, and the Empire is slowly going down. But what does this matter in the moment, when it's not fast enough to put a grain of rice in a starving child's mouth? What do you tell that child, about a future they'll never know? I think of this often, and I mourn.

I don't know. I don't want to know. But I do. This is life at the end of the world as we know it. It's dying all the time, it's dying inside, and writing while people writhe, and while better men die trying. I think I retreat to history because I can't even begin to grieve the present misery. But sometimes it creeps through. I feel souls crying out across the ocean, and I swear it wounds my own soul.
