The movement on the GIF is illustrative. Buses are actually the lowest efficiency among public transit, I just include them cause it involves nearly zero major changes. Rail can move 80-100,000 people per corridor, per hour.

It doesn’t really matter how you slice the math, there’s simply no competition between private cars and public transit.
