How Iran Has Strategically Won

Strategic victory is a victory that provides ‘long-term advantage to the victor and/or undermines the enemy's ability to wage war’. That is a Wikipedia quote which I'm embarrassed to use so I'll unembarrass myself by citing Clausewitz at length.

But tl;dr, Iran has already strategically won A) because they have one and B) because they have thrown the whole global economy and tossed American fighting forces out of their bases. Now it's just a matter of time before America flees, Palestine is released, and the world is more free. But don't take my word on it. Read Clausewitz.

Bit Of Theory

Johann Jakob Kirchhoff, Carl von Clausewitz, 1825. (German Historical Museum)

Carl von Clausewitz (really Marie, who edited his mess) is the Western theorist of war, which is useful if you want to understand Western warlikeness. Clausewitz envisioned war as a grand duel and said, “War is thus an act of force to compels our enemy to do our will.” He said “the aim of warfare is to disarm the enemy.” He also said “WAR DOES NOT CONSIST OF A SINGLE SHORT BLOW” (it's a chapter heading, he wasn't yelling). He also famously said, “WAR IS MERELY THE CONTINUATION OF POLICY BY OTHER MEANS.” There is of course more to Clausewitz, but this will suffice for our immediate purposes.

Clausewitz as a European was, of course, racist and also said “wars between civilized nations are far less cruel and destructive than wars between savages,” and “If, then, civilized nations do not put their prisoners to death or devastate cities and countries, it is because intelligence plays a larger part in their methods of warfare and has taught them more effective ways of using force than the crude expression of instinct.” I cite this not to dunk on Clausewitz but because it's important for knowing our enemy here.

Remember that every accusation is a confession from White Empire. Europeans, of course, devastated continents and put entire populations to death because they did not think of them as people at all. And don't get me started on what they did to the whales. If war is a duel, duels are between gentlemen, and everyone else was cattle, or literally chattel as it were. This has been both White Empire's strength (hell, it worked for centuries) but also its undoing (all going to hell now) as it faces an existential duel with Iran.

The Duel

First lets define war, or the duel as it were. Clausewitz started his work by saying,

I shall not begin by expounding a pedantic, literary definition of war, but go straight to the heart of the matter, to the duel. War is nothing but a duel on a larger scale. Countless duels go to make up war, but a picture of it as a whole can be formed by imagining a pair of wrestlers. Each tries through physical force to compel the other to do his will; his immediate aim is to throw his opponent in order to make him incapable of further resistance.

Duels are just Europeans behaving like alley cats in wigs, that's it. If you look at animals, say my dog and my cat, they do threat displays before actually fighting because fighting is costly. So the dog will growl and show its teeth, or the cat will raise up like boxing, and usually the cat will go belly up to signal submission. One time, however, my cat (Pippi) just reared up and went for the dog (Lilly), savaging it for lack of a better word. I pulled Pippi off but dude went right back in, I was a bit scared of him. The dog, despite being bigger, did not know what hit her and retreated. The cat remains dominant, you could say he achieved strategic victory that day. That is roughly what's happening in the Middle East.

The White Empire was, before this war, bigger than Iran. They had deported their Jews to Palestine as a conscript colony, had invented Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Eunuchs, destroyed Iraq and Syria, and generally had the run of the place. As the joke goes, Iran had the misfortune to place its country between many American military bases. This was the strategic situation before the Ramadan War. White Empire was the big dog, indubitably. But their bark was bigger than their bite, as we have found out.

The 12-Day-War of 2025, in this context, was a threat display. Iran showed that they could hit 'Israel'—and what a show it was—but it didn't hit them very hard, and didn't hit the wider imperial bases at all. They did not want to square off against the big dogs just yet and, indeed, avoided this as long as possible. They effectively (and it pains me to write this) showed their belly, like my cat would. They let American B2s hit their nuclear mountains and let Trump declare victory and move on. That was all telegraphed, like the usual threat displays between Pippi and Lilly in my household.

Like Lilly if she was actually a bitch, however, that wasn't enough for America and they went for Iran now. And, like Pippi when he finally had enough, Iran has reacted violently and changed everything. In the Ramadan War, the gloves are off (from Iran's side) and they have joined the duel for real, even if the other side doesn't acknowledge them as human yet. Pride goeth before the fall, as they say, and Iran has already ‘through physical force to compelled the other to do his will’ and has almost ‘achieved his immediate aim, to throw his opponent in order to make him incapable of further resistance.’

How so, when Iran's people are still being bombed every day? We'll see anon.

Disarm

One of the most cited ideas of Clausewitz is that the aim of warfare is to disarm the enemy. This is the idea that you don't try to take land per se, but try to find and annihilate the opposing military. This contrasts with the American idea of ‘strategic bombing’, which is just slaughter civilians. This never works—from Dresden to Vietnam to now—so you have to conclude that they just like killing people. It's not strategic so much as Satanic. As Trump now admits, near the exits, “[I said, to the Navy] 'Why don't we just capture the ship? We could use it. Why did we sink them?' He said, 'It's more fun to sink them.' They like sinking them better.” He is referring to sinking the unarmed ship Dena, carrying a marching band, and leaving Sri Lankans to pick up the bodies, in violation of the Geneva Conventions. Those are, of course, only for Europeans.

You can see how White racism provides a big loophole for all White reason. Why disarm these Iranians when you can just destroy them is the reasoning. It makes sense because racism—they weren't human in the first place. America has lost many wars like this but it doesn't matter. They made money. Remember that America is a net arms proliferator, they have discovered that there's much profit in losing wars and looting your own treasury.

Iran, on the other hand, follows basic Clausewitzian logic (which Clause of course wouldn't think them capable of). Satan Clause said,

The worst of all conditions in which a belligerent can find himself is to be utterly defenseless. Consequently, if you are to force the enemy, by making war on him, to do your bidding, you must either make him literally defenseless or at least put him in a position that makes this danger probable.

This is precisely what Iran is doing by taking out the White Empire's radars around the Gulf and dismantling its bases there permanently. Making them defenseless. This makes the Ramadan War categorically different from the Vietnam or Afghanistan Wars. Those were all losses for Empire but not strategic losses. They could go on to ‘strategic’ bomb other places next door. With the Ramadan War, it's not so. They'll be kicked out of the Middle East forevermore. I repeat that the infrastructure they're losing will never be rebuilt. They'd need Chinese resources to do it, and Iran will just blow them up again. As Iranian Major-General Mohsen Rezaei has said,

You saw what happened just last night in Tel Aviv. Meaning, because we hit the radars and the infrastructure, today, truly, Mr. Trump and Netanyahu are trapped in a slaughterhouse in the Persian Gulf.

This is the point of Clausewitzian War. Find the enemy forces and destroy them. Find their weapons and make toys of them. Not to blow up school children.

Throwing The Opponent

If we return to the idea of war as a duel, Trump thought he could just shoot Iran in its head and move on. But that's not what's happening. The head respawned and the IRGC went all Decentralized Mosaic Defense on him. Now Iran is not stuck in there with Trump, Trump is stuck in there with Iran. As the martyr General Mousavi said, “It is his hand to take, but it is no longer his hand to let go.”

Trump thought—like with Venezuela—he was fighting just one duel, but as Clausewitz said,

Countless duels go to make up war, but a picture of it as a whole can be formed by imagining a pair of wrestlers. Each tries through physical force to compel the other to do his will; his immediate aim is to throw his opponent in order to make him incapable of further resistance.

This is what Iran is doing and what America is doing because they cannot acknowledge that they are in a duel at all. They think that they are just doing things to natives, not duelling with gentlemen. Hence Iran strategically wins almost by default, because they're the only ones following a strategy at all.

Iran is methodically bending America to its will by destroying its military bases, exhausting its missile defenses, and choking out the global economy. As Clausewitz said,

If the enemy is to be coerced you must put him in a situation that is even more unpleasant than the sacrifice you call on him to make. The hardships of that situation must not of course be merely transient.

Thus Iran is able to dictate its terms and let the global (really imperial) economy slowly burn. They're exporting more oil than ever, China has exceptions, and Russia's revenue just went up. They've got the White Empire by the only thing that matters to them. Their markets. As Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said, “Markets are facing biggest shortfall in HISTORY: bigger than Arab Oil Embargo, Iran's Islamic Revolution and the Kuwait invasion COMBINED.”

For reference, the Arab Oil Embargo lasted six months but destroyed oil stability forever. That plus the 1979 Iranian Revolution changed oil from a stable commodity to a state of permanent combustibility. And now Iran has blown the whole thing up with a selective siege they can keep up forever. For once they're not the ones being sanctioned. It's the Empire. People don't get it, but this is going to change the world forever (again).

The US is trying to make this real change go away with market manipulation, but OK, all will be revealed in due time. The whole US economy was a bubble in the first place (the US of AI), now with an energy shock it's going to pop. But America does not, perhaps cannot, think this way because they thought of this war as one decisive act that they can still decide upon. However, as Clausewitz said,

If the decision in war consists of several successive acts, then each of them, seen in context, will provide a gauge for those that follow. Here again, the abstract world is ousted by the real one and the trend to the extreme is thereby moderated.

The abstract world will be ousted by the real one. Empire is now in “a situation that is even more unpleasant than the sacrifice you call on him to make,” which is just leaving in this case, and letting the region foreswear slavery, and leaving 'Israel' to its fate (to become Palestine again). Clausewitz said “the hardships of that situation must not of course be merely transient,” and they ain't. So let them fake out the markets for a bit, reality will have the last word shortly. As the Quran said, “Let them laugh a little and weep much in return for their misdeeds.”

What follows is about the importance of Clausewitz's racism.
