Iran’s Mehr News Agency ran this missile photo once. See if you can spot what’s wrong. Well, what’s the most wrong.
Iran’s Fars News Agency recently ran a report from the fake news site The Onion as real news. The Onion published a fake poll saying that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (the President of Iran) was more popular than Barack Obama. They apologized but then sorta doubled down on the mistake, saying “we do believe that if a free opinion poll is conducted in the US, a majority of Americans would prefer anyone outside the US political system to President Barack Obama and American statesmen”. Well, no. What’s more interesting is that they then proceed to list 15 other news fails in a BuzzFeed worthy post.
While they copied most of the list from the Guardian, it’s still interesting. But they shouldn’t get off so easy. They published something hilariously wrong and then went ahead and said that they still think it’s true. So, still wrong, just not as hilarious.
