Arun Dias Bandaranaike and Dave Free on Good Morning Sri Lanka, talking about the festival.
The Colombo Music Festival kicked off last night and it’s kicked in today. It took forever, but I made all the shows into events on YAMU, so you can get the prices and times and add to your Google Calendar or whatever. They’re all indexed here. Highlights are the conversion of spaces – there’ll be music at the Sivan Kovil in Kotahena, National Museum in Colombo 7, and Dutch Hospital in Fort. There’s also a crazy electric violin and drums concert at Waters Edge, among many many other things.
Sounds interesting, although I noticed RK Radhakrishnan of the Hindu was whining about how some Carnatic musician called Krishnan cancelled his concert at the Taj Samudra.
