Sir Quler Road sign, Mount Lavinia.
This is my favorite Colombo typo ever. It’s deceptive. At first I was like, who is this fascinating Sir Quler? An enigmatic Spanish conquistador, washed up on the shores of Mount Lavinia? Then somebody told me. It’s Circular. The road is Circular Road. It’s a typo.
As a note, they fixed the sign at one end of the road, but not the other. In the same way, my road has two different names depending on which end you enter at, one a lane, one a road, but both phonetically recognizable.
