Rain from the Dutch Hospital, facing the WTC, yesterday
Yesterday it really rained. According to Daily Mirror SMS alerts, this is due to a ‘disorder in the atmosphere’. I was at the Dutch Hospital (Shopping Complex) and we just pulled up our chairs and watched the show. When it rains it rains, a thunderous sky perahera that takes over the roads. I swear that I saw a bolt of lightning hit the Bank Of Ceylon building. It was pretty awesome.
The photo is the view from The Dutch Hospital complex towards the World Trade Center and the Hilton, to the left. It’s one of the more contrasty views in the city. You’re in a flat, colonial, almost rural style place, surrounded by high-rises (on one side at least). You can see the rain here because I’ve put the flash on. It captures each droplet that reflects. Old trick.
Nice pic.
You are letting people put up ‘banners’ on ur blog???
I put a banner on my blog :). Just testing it out
Watching the rain has always been a favourite pastime of mine. That’s why I never grumble about rain, only about the state of the roads. Love the mood of this picture.
Love the picture, love rain although stuck in the road for more than an hour and a half!
I think our uni got stuck with a couple of bolts too. :D Utter chaos it was, the lights were gone and I think even the backup power system gave out. People were having sexytimes all over. :P
