The city has posted signs asking people to use garbage cans, without actually installing garbage cans. While education is important, it should be linked to possible execution. Right now these signs just hang out there, being purely theoretical. While I appreciate the effort, I’m still walking around with popsicle sticks in my pockets.
These signs to ‘Keep The City Clean’ are now at almost every bus stand. I’ve kept track though, and I have yet to find a garbage can within 200 meters of any such sign. One would think that the graphic of a guy throwing something in a trash can would be next to an actual trash can, but no.
So, now that the city has briefed on garbage cans and how to use them, it would be nice to actually have some.
Ha ha gud one. Had the same issue. Either no trash bin or fully damaged orange trash bin hanging on a light post.
IMO it should be mandatory for each shop (those that sell stuff which we will throw away after few mins of use ) to have a trash can in front of it.
There has been many occasions that I buy milk packets or Milo and even if I drink it inside the shop there is no place to put the empty packet. May be we should hand it to the shop keeper.
Why the hell is everything in English only? Surely the vast majority of people who come in and out of the city everyday (and contribute to pollution) aren’t English language speakers? Are these signs just for the tourists?
English speaking Men are the worst polluters :-) at home they have their aya ammas or wives picking up after them.
