Holy Jabebus. This short film is a collaboration between Salvador Dali and Walt Disney. It’s amazing.
Dalí described the film as “A magical display of the problem of life in the labyrinth of time” and Disney called it “A simple story about a young girl in search of true love.” (Brain Pickings)
The film was lost for half a century released in 2000. I just found it now, through this amazing blog, Brain Pickings. And she has more, she also posted Dali illustrations for Alice In Wonderland. Amazing blog.
I’ve said amazing like seven times, but I don’t know what else to say. There is a quality to some art which just makes you gasp, and Dali definitely has it.
Read Brain Pickings. It’s good for you.
Great find, my family has a bunch of Dali stuff.
Eerie is how I find Dali stuff, and this film with Disney is beautifully eerie.
Wow. I interpret this as a psychedelic trip thinly disguised as a love story
