From a prior Refresh

I’m a bit torn, there’s the ever informative Refresh Colombo professional meeting at 5:30 today, and my friend Anushka Wijesinha is also giving a talk on Sri Lankan economics at 5:30 as well. I’ll probably do the latter cause I told him, but I recommend both if you were looking for something professional or academic on a Thursday night.

Refresh is a monthly event. This week they’re talking about Office 365 (meh), making money on free software, and scaling apps to the Internet success. All interesting stuff. What’s cool is that they’ve been doing this for over a year I think and it’s still popping. It’s at the Royal Skills Center. More info here.

Anush is speaking at the American Center, which I generally don’t like (they take my phone) but he’s a smart guy and the topic looks interesting. There’s a panel with various business and economic peeps and they’re talking about Sri Lanka in a Changing Global Economic Landscape. We all here the hype about China and the gripe about the West, but it’d be interesting to see what’s really going on.

Anyways, all this stuff is happening, like, now. Act Before You Think is also doing competitive improv theatre at 8 o’clock. Tonight it’s Dishum Dishum against Improbable fiction. Phew, busy day.
