In more interesting news, I just saw a report that says Sri Lanka now has over 360,000 Internet
users connections. This seems low, but it’s at least a major improvement over 240,000 last year. According to LBO, there are now over 16 million mobile connections, though I know many people who have three or four connections themselves. Actually, thinking about it, I have about three (mostly data, but SIMs nonetheless). It’s interesting and encouraging that Internet is growing, but it’s still really not big enough. That said, with mobile broadband it is actually affordable (compared to the west) and available islandwide, which is pretty cool. Here’s hoping for more growth.
