Sun through the clouds
There’s an innocuous looking ad on the front page of the Daily Mirror, listing numbers and contacts for complaints. When you visit the site, however, (slelections2010.com) it’s an attack site on Sarath Fonseka, blatantly supporting MR. Called the number and they give reasonable voting information, but I suspect that these contacts are just a black hole for legitimate voting complaints.
Mahinda Poster, Horton Place junction
MR never really stopped campaigning, people were putting up past-dated posters and there are ambiguous hoardings like above around Colombo. They’re out past the date and it’s below the belt, but the disregard for the law continued, and I suppose would continue.
This faux election complaint site is the worst. It takes a non-partisan issue and then connects it to an attack site. For example
An unconfirmed report stated that an election rally organised in support of UNF-TNA-JVP presidential candidate Sararth Fonseka last evening (JAN 23) in Jaffna , observed 5 minutes silence to honour the dead LTTE Terrorists
While many Tamil political representatives are backing Mr. Fonseka, the ground level Tamil people seem to be rallying behind Mr. Rajapaksa
They’re also running the same numbers as the Mahinda Rajapaksa campaign, showing MR at 56%, with zero undecideds. Which isn’t true. It’s quite a bit shameless. Sadly, the numbers and contacts they posted are the most prominent for election fraud. I suspect that they are just a black hole where complaints go to die.
