Me in Padaviya
I basically saw everything this week. On Saturday I was in Padaviya, the transit hospital for warzone casualties (after Palmbudai). On Sunday I went inland thru Ratnapura to Hambantota. On Monday I was in a Hambantota jail. After a flurry of phone calls and very kind treatment and congenial chats with the police I was out. Then on Tuesday I went to Tangalle – 14km from Mahinda’s hometown – to watch his speech. Then I drove back along the southern coast, stopping in Galle and eating and drinking from all the flag waving people along the road. Things are changing, north to south.
Basically, it’s a long story. I’m uploading some video. I’ll fill this in. I’d recommend twitter.com/indica to start. I was able to update from IDP camps to the road to jail.
