Kalpitiya Is The Shit.
Went to Kalpitiya with the family. It’s pretty much the furthest north-west you can go before the map reads HERE BE TIGERS. Kalpitiya is nice because it’s situated on a thin spit of land jutting into the Indian Ocean – sea on one side, lagoon on the other. There are whales and dolphins swimming about and word is that you can go kitesurfing there. It’s a nice place to hang out and whatever, and it’s now Hikkaduwa or Unawatuna. It also has very little in the way of facilities but I suspect it will develop with some speed soon.
These are just preliminary things I managed to upload. Each photo I take converts to a Digital Negative of about 30MB (then back down to a 3-4MB JPEG) and the videos are hundreds of MB, so getting this stuff up now takes days of processing. I apologize for the backtalk and cut outs to my foot but I’m not editing these at all.
Above is a pair of dung beetles rolling some poop home for dinner.
Some cute dogs on the beach. Very friendly.
