I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks and I’ve got nothing. What’s the best way for local Sri Lankan companies to advertise on Sri Lankan blogs? Is it Google Adsense, or is it some local, custom-built solution. Adsense has the advantage of being an awesome, mature system, and it can target a list of blogs exclusively. However, I’m not sure that it A) connects to Sri Lankan banks B) can give money to blogs for impressions rather than clicks. Wait, the latter they do. From a relationship perspective this is much better cause getting paid is a pain in the ass. But I don’t know, does AdSense work for Sri Lankan bloggers out there? I’m asking.
Yeps, adsense are working for me and I am getting so many requests for advertising in my blog. Most are Jobbanks, design firms, Web apps… etc. But still I don’t like to have third party ads other than adsense in my blog.
We can start a local online advertising service not only for bloggers, basically targeting the total Sri Lankan traffic :)
Cheers,
Chamara
i’ve started my internet marketing business, it includes yahoo, search123, miva, etc… so i make cash on clicks, but i als0 make A LOT from Global Domains, Directmatches, commission junction, myspace, zenzuu, yuwie, etc. and the funny thing is I didn’t spend a rupee. You can spend if you like, it will increase revenue, but you don’t have to. The only thing you have to spend is some time. For example you can use adwords etc.and pay for it/
How to do it? well…
I’ve got some revenues……….waiting for the check ……. :-) …….
Facebook seems to have done this quite well – i was getting ads for helga’s folly quite consistently. may be Chamara’s idea is worth trying out.
It does work, but not perfectly. You may find some funny examples of AdSense showing wrong ads due to the fact that AdSense delivers ads related to the blog’s geographical location. So if you apply for somewhere with less advertisers with Google ( Sri Lanka of course ), there is a big chance of getting some offensive and spammy ads too.
Personally I do not prefer ‘ direct match ‘ ads since
1. They do not fit well with the categories of my blogs ( mobile technology, aviation )
2. They seem to clutter your webpage real estate and would make the page look spammy and junk to the reader. So I prefer to give my readers the uncluttered experience.
Once I was offered a big compensation to sell my mobile tech blog, but I refused and I’m still waiting to implement ads on that site since I belive its more helpful to all the parties ( blogger, reader, advertiser ).

On the original thinkfreed site yes in a sense. But never big bucks. Now I don’t feature ads, not Petrol or ViceUnVersa. But I am finding that with thinkfreed the traffic was 99% from Kottu, strangely for ViceUnVersa it’s from all over the word. So this whole key word thing is true, as on VUV I tend feature stuff from all over the world, and the hits correspond.
Sorry, did I give a ‘what’s that got to do with the price of eggs’ answer?
I hope not!
http://gostartblogger.blogspot.com is not in kottu. I dont know why?
What do I do wrong. I’m also an Adsense publisher.
Thanx Indi for adding my blog again. My blog also serving Adsense. I’m just earning 20-25 per month.
I dont need to be a millionaire by blogging.
Google Adsense is working fine in Sri Lanka.
Have u ever received Adsense Cheques? How To Cash them? I know there is a Citibank Branch in Sri Lanka.
Mr. Indi or any other blogger help me?
Google adsense is fine as long as spammers dont ruin it. I dont think we have enough internet traffic in Sri Lanka for another third party advertising service, but there is one already but dont know the success rate
Maybe Alcazzarre could help you to solve your problems? You’r welcome pal.
now a days I’m tring to get local advertisers than any other money making programmes as I want to keep my local veiwers on my blog than the international ones. But, Don’t knw wheather it will be succesed. Wht do you think friends.
