Susantha getting a ticket on Galle Road for talking on a cell phone (more)
Today the server spit up some viscous, blue liquid and died. I took a look at the Global Virus Maps and I think it’s PE_FUNLOVE or something. Sri Lankan style, it takes 3 technicians and all day to get the Net running again. I’m going to watch TV.
I usually read the news, so I decide I might as well watch the BBC. This is water torture. BBC News programming seems to be explicitly designed for Airports, or HM even. They repeat the same story every 5 minutes, all day long. Lately the story is IRAQ ON FIRE every day. Powell’s been muttering about how we’re actually losing to the insurgents… but I can’t read about that – I just watch the same story over and over. There was some election coverage – about 20 minutes total – repeated all boring day long. TV sucks.
I finally left the house to finish up my shopping research for the Leisure Times article (http://indi.ca/gadjits). Today I went to Unity Plaza which – though also a bazaar -sucks less than Majestic City. The west side smells like pee-pee but I can deal with that.
