It’s 5 am and I’m sorta done with this graphic for the Leisure Times. It’s to accompany an article I wrote on all the cool stuff Google’s been coming out with – and how they’re going to take over the world. Google is building an empire more valuable than land or money. While Microsoft is laid up with cyber-herpes Google is out there making moves. To the casual observer these moves may seem disjointed, a $1.7 billion IPO here, an email service there. On closer inspection, however, these choices are no more random than a grandmaster moving bishops and knights into play. Google is just a few steps away from buying the bank while Microsoft is staring vacantly in the mirror, trying to cover its cold sores with make-up. How?
