I think I’ll drop my 9h30 Philosophy of Science Seminar. It’s with this 86 year old prof I like, but it’s just too goddam early. I have work and stuff now, yeah, Ammi and ThaThi, I got a job at Chaplaincy (multi-faith). I’m pretty sure it’s a job, I did fill out a bunch of papers I don’t understand. I have no idea what it pays, but if I know anything about McGill I just have to fill out time-sheets. Unfortunately my hours are midnight to 3 am, so I’m just not going to take any morning classes… I did make a set of Graphics for the McGill Student Parents’ Network (run on Chaplaincy money).
… these images got lost in switching servers
I’m involved with Chaplaincy because I did a lot of work (mostly Covers) for their publication Radix. Last summer I went to a Buddhist Monastery in West Virginia (don’t snicker, Western Buddhism is very ‘pure’. My mom got me to go). It was only 1 and a half days but it slightly blew my mind. I was walking around and I saw an ad for Buddhist Representative to this publication and I was like “OK.”
It’s nice people, and it’s nice to get slightly paid. I have some other jobs lined up, so Ammi, I’m starting to apply stuff. I’m meeting with the President of McGill Hillel for Kosher Pizza this Thursday. Last year I got involved with the McGill Jewish community, ‘specially cause they had this dinners on the Sabbath (Friday) and I liked the community at the Ghetto Shul. It’s called McGill Ghetto, where lots of students live, it’s not an actual ghetto. And don’t even get on me about Israel. If somebody offers me food I’ll eat with them, that’s all. Unless it’s peanuts.
I got offered a job rehabilitating the SSMU (Student Society of McGill University) website too… just have to get the VP to call me back. Things are a little fucked up in the insular little world of McGill Politics. The President Naeem Datoo is resigning for some reason. I’m leaking that, I don’t think it’s public, but nobody cares anyways. Ron told me two days ago and I thought he was joking. It actually makes no difference. I just think it’s funny how Elections have been showing their edges this century.
So yeah, I have some work Ammi. And it’s fun work, and I’m able to do it cause I experimented this summer.
PS. I think I got into religion at least partly cause ThaTha was raised Methodist and became so critical of Christianity/Religion. Strange how rebellion is cyclical…
These graphics are excellent…I really really like them. Specifically the support meetings one.
