Nobody believes me when I say I want to do nothing on my Birthday.
I’m pretty simple. I don’t care for drinking or partying. I like breathing and I like water and I like people.
Today I got up @ 1, took some phone calls, showered. Was socially grooming Tosca on the futon and we both fell asleep, his little paws on my chest. Woke up to take some more phone calls. Now I’m sitting in the papasan on my balcony – watching the clouds drift over Mont Royal. I can hear someone playing harmonica. Sounds like the song Vagabond by Air & Beck.
I’ve been thinking bout this Nas lyric from Illmatic (One Love)-
You may say,
I need the time alone,
To relax my dome,
No phone,
Left the 9 at home
That’s kinda how I feel. I just want to lie around, meditate, play with my cat, and go out to dinner with a few of my close friends. Happy Birthday.
the largest life is often found in the smallest plans
no musts, no fuss, no stress, no demands.
a second is a second regardless of today
but i can’t deny that the seconds parted like curtains when i heard you were born today.
happy birthday indi.
