Those Lovely Emails From China
Lady in a designated hustling booth (selling what I don’t know), Beijing.
Every now and then I get spam email from China which really isn’t spam. They are just polite sales pitches for things which I’m really not in the market for (printed circuit boards, sanitary napkins, stone crushing equipment) but which I’m sure exist. I mean, if I did need like 10,000 sanitary napkins, that email from Tracy at Y&B would have been really handy. I also enjoy reading their polite English. At the same time, I also hold out for that one email which would offer 10,000 units of something I didn’t know I needed.
Here’s one example of a more well-written pitch:
Dear Sir,
I got your name and address from internet and knew you’re big importer in commodities.(sanitary napkins) which is within the scope of our business.
Take this opportunity, we introduce our factory, as one of the biggest manufacturer of sanitary napkins ,baby diapers and adult diapers in Guangdong province China. We export large quantity to Europe and Asian countries. Deal to high quality and reasonable price, We are ready to refer you our favorable price and relative samples, for quality evaluation and marketing activities. We also cooperated with Winalite before, now we’re researching and developing many functional sanitary napkins which are very popular in the market.
Should you have interest of items mentioned above? Kindly let us know by return email, For getting all the detailed information, you’re invited to visit our website: lifeyb.com/YBeng
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
and then here’s a shoddy pitch I got today

I guess it’s technically spam (unsolicited email) but I honestly don’t mind reading these emails. It’s not like they’re making me feel bad about my penis or asking for money. These guys are just trying to do business, with a firehose. And they’re always quite sweet, like they’re passing the email with two hands. I almost look forwarding to manufacturing spam from China.
