This is Isura Silva of Sarvoday Fusion on Good Morning Sri Lanka, talking about the work they’ve been doing with smartphones and ICTs at the village level. I won’t get to it too much cause I’m pitching all day, but you can see. Fusion has done great work, building on the collosal work of Sarvodaya in general to test and document ICTs as catalysts in rural communities.
As Isura notes, it’s not that smartphones are magical 2001 style monoliths that make people awesome, but they can make a difference in peoples lives, especially their economic lives. I mean, look at me. Fusion was looking at this when cost was prohibitive, but now it’s not even that any more. It’s honestly just a matter of time.
