War Is A Force That Gives Us Traffic

The rise in traffic with the war crimes debate (and a bit from the Kingfisher calendar)
Three years after, Sri Lanka is still defined by the war. To a lesser extend, so is this blog. As much as I try to write about penguins and India and swimsuit calendars, it’s still war that gets people engaged.
Whatever I do, this blog’s traffic always spikes with war or elections, or natural disasters. Artificial and natural disasters you could say. With comments it’s even more clear. Any post about the war gets over 20 comments easily, whereas penguins gets like four.
I actually love Sri Lanka for the not war stuff, but there’s still a big media demand for it, even if it’s just the yearly acid reflux we get around this time. So, here’s some reading.
- My review of the new Killing Fields Part 2 video
- A piece on Prabhakaran’s Play from beyond the grave
- On the seeming execution of Prabhakaran’s kid
And, if you’re interested, here’s a piece that really interested me. It’s on Postmodern GIFs.
Not to quote Ice Cube, but the Sri Lankan police are hardly beloved. A
I just gave a talk at the University Of Sri Jayawardenapura along with Reeza Zarook of Anything.lk and Rohan Jayaweera of Google. These are my notes: Devin Jayasundara asked me for a subject for this talk and I told him Internet property. But I talked to my fiancé Shru and she had a better idea. Startups aren’t about creating property at all, not really. They’re about creating territory, about creating land.
I haven’t been blogging much, I know. It’s partly because we’ve been doing a lot of work on YAMU, especially shipping 1.0.1 of the Android app today. It’s on the
I met an old-timer who said they used to drop acid and sleep atop Sigiriya, but the place has taken on a more commercial and quasi-spiritual role now. It was built by a king as a sort of retreat and used as a monastery. Now it’s a prime tourist and cultural destination. Hence it’s a bit odd to see a Japanese beer commercial shot up there. There’s a bunch of people eating, um, deep fried cream filled coconuts and then drinking some bracing beer. I hear the whole thing cost Rs. 25,000 (I’m presuming they used stock images).

Sri Lanka is still defined by the war because the horrors of war are not addressed by the ruling party. Remember farcical “ Zero “ civilian casualties few months ago ? One could not just sweep under the carpet the murder of so many innocent civilians … A little bit compassion for the tragic war victims will solve this problem…
Where is the evidence of murder?
Ha… ha… ha…
As always, the vicious war hawk is harping the same sick lies…
Fortunately, most Sinhalese (…me including) do not believe in your shameless hogwash any more…
What lies? I just asked you a question; there’s no need to get abusive or hysterical.
David Blacker is a hilarious clown who justify the unjustifiable and eagerly applauds impunity for the child killers. Kalana Senaratne don’t take him seriously. I would ignore him.
Ignoring people with inconvenient questions is always a good tactic when you have no answers. I have neither justified nor applauded; I’m just asking a simple question. Why can’t you answer?
Evidence of murder?
Watch this with your eyes and ears open.

sri lankan’s case is like a victim who had been oppressed by a terrorist thug and finally the victim murders the thug and being charged for the murder.
