Coke And Ketchup In Glass Bottles

I’m showing Kik cause I like it better than Coke.
I think packaged goods cost more in emerging markets than, uh, emerged. But at least we get Coke and ketchup in glass bottles. I was reading about Heinz’s new social media promotion for balsamic-based ketchup, not available in Sri Lanka I assume. What struck me, however, was this:
While 14-ounce glass Heinz bottles, which are still sold to restaurants, have not been widely available to consumers, the balsamic ketchup will only be sold in the bottles. (Ketchup Moves Upmarket)
Checked the fridge, and I have a glass bottle of Heinz. Which I bought at the street kade down the, uh, street. We also get Coke, Kik or Minute Maid apple juice in glass bottles. You have to drink those there and return, which is fine. Stuff tastes way better and colder in glass. Ketchup is not a big deal to me, but glass is definitely classier and less farty. The main place I see plastic is littered around. You can even get like 1.5/2 liter glass bottles.
So, there.

Umm Indi… I distinctly remember how you had put up a post about how bad KIK Cola was and said something like it has no taste compared to Coke? Just came to my mind…

There is a balsamic-based cream/topping/sauce available in SL. Bought a bottle from Cargills and it’s brilliant. Damn expensive though.
Lately I’ve seen salad cream and even chicken sandwitch spread that come in laminated sachets with a plastic dispenser fixed on top. Assume there’s an inner foil lining in the packaging. They do make things easy of course, but I’m quite paranoid about what kind of ingrdients/preservatives go in to those preparations. . Try to cook using only a few basic ingredients, and am quite used to it now.
