Indi, what’s your experience of doing such “street photography” in Colombo? I can’t count the number of times I’ve passed a great opportunity for a photo, but have been nervous to stop and start photographing. I don’t even refer to clearly “asking-for-trouble” shots such as your photo of the cop! nor do I refer to any “risky” areas e.g., (harbor, Courts, army/navy places). No, i mean even simple shots that don’t involve any people and that aren’t in any risky areas. My hesitation is mainly the fact of how people in general, as well as any police/armed forces would likely tend to view any such photography with suspicion. (And i don’t even have any press credentials).
