Live Blogging LIRNEasia Conference

Halik and Dinidu and Sanjay and I have been live-covering this LIRNEasia conference. Which is all the stuff clogging up Kottu, for which I apologize. It’s basically an experiment (also done 5 years ago) in using modern ‘Web 2.0′ tools to cover something live.
I’m basically blogging what people say, Dinidu is taking photos, Halik is blogging and Twittering and Sanjay is taking video. In this way even over mediocre connections its possible to get a pretty rich real time view of an event. The weird thing is that this is pretty much second nature to a lot of people my generation or below.
It’s not as new as last time, but still an interesting concept I think. You can follow the event at lirneasia.net, and all the social media stuff via the sidebar. It’s a bit technical, but interesting for economic/policy wonks. I think also generally.

This is highly dubious. Miss Travel is a travel/social networking site that connects ‘Generous’ and ‘Attractive’ travelers. To, like, travel together, I guess. It all seems a bit like arranged prostitution and trafficking. This is part of a broader online trend to connect rich men to younger, attractive women. Sites like
