Powerful women and strong personalities are good. However the majority of the Sri Lankan women are like the ones in your first picture. They are the back bone of the civil service and the banking industry in Sri lanka. They go about very placidly doing their little bit, always full of smiles and a kind word to their customers, never want to be the center of attention. They are the glue that holds the Sri Lankan community. That first picture of yours is absolutely brilliant. Greatness is a product of the environment but it takes courage to be ordinary and to be happy about it. The women in the first picture are very courageous as they get on with life without song and dance. Their battle is largely ignored as we glorify beauty and bravery.
