Getting Out Of Town

I wanted to see some paddy so I drove a bit out of town, to Athurigiriya. I was listening to streaming MP3s through the netbook on the passenger seat. I’ve been the NYTimes series on distracted driving so I pull over if I ever need to interact with the machine. I like internet radio cause it introduces me to new things. I like going out of town for the same reasons. Colombo is a stressor, I feel it as soon as the population gets concentrating and the traffic gets fierce. Late at night past Malabe you can just drive. I wander around there sometimes, to seep out the crazy. I heard this song I liked, by Death Cab for Cutie. It goes:
Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
where they’re far more suited than here
Indeed, I thought, indeed. This is that song over some video of Kalpitiya, just tooling around in a boat. Kalpitiya is a lovely beach where the land splinters off makes a bay. In season you can see dolphins. The water is placid, like Jello. I often wish I was there.
You can get the song (Soul Meets Body) from Amazon or iTunes, via Hype Machine.
