Yahoo buys these sites for the members then they just keep it running. I was glad at least the delicious.com team did some updates after being bought.

I use Picasa, but I don’t like their online version as much, and it doesn’t have the critical mass of Flickr. Like Windows, I don’t think I’d ever fully leave Flickr, but I’m not pumpd about it anymore.

Picasa also does RAW (digital negative) processing, but not to the extent I need. That’s another thing I wish Flickr would do, archiving RAW files

have you used picasa 3.5 – meant have face-recognition, geo-tagging and name tagging? Though personally not a fan of picasa on the mac..iphoto has become my standard and even allows uploading to facebook for distribution and storage..

good post – stopped using flickr about the yahoo took over too..
