Hey guys--

May be an offbeat thing to say but I haven't been back to Colombo for a little while and I find myself missing the "nightlife," if that's what it can be called. Not sure what the appeal is exactly but I think I can attribute parts each to music (repeated there constantly but not often heard here), smells (curry sweat?), and so on. Whatever the case, I'm homesick (awaysick?) for some of it.

Still I get the point and have felt the same way when spending too much time around Colombo. Get away and reapproach may do wonders. As well as shopping for new shoes....

My sentiments on the 'new' clubbing culture in Colombo are very much reflective of yours. Went to Zanzibar and fled yesterday too. It's quite pathetic with zero real clubs here what with the closure of the Blue and other places that resembled actual nightclubs. Now all we have are small rooms that have been converted and filled with prepubescent kids attempting to resemble hip hop videos. Sigh. Its tragic but I think friend's houses and outstation is all thats left for us over 24.
