Malaka Silva Should Face Justice

The incident, and Malaka’s ballsy response, cowering in an ambulance
The state’s bastard child has finally gone too far. Malaka Silva is a danger to anyone in Colombo. This is not because he is particularly big, strong, or cunning. He’s not a real thug or mobster, just a son of someone who knows them. His father isn’t a proper minister, having lost his election and gotten in on the absurd (national list). Malaka Silva is simply the most depraved of our very depraved political spawn. In the past he has beat up policemen conducting a drug raid – and gotten off with a fine. He wasn’t allowed to enter Clancy’s with a gun so he and his father trashed… Sopranos (next door). Now, he has brutally beaten and pistol whipped a man at Bistro Latino. This is standard behavior for Malaka, only this man – Chaminda Senasinghe – has the balls to file charges. And Malaka is hiding in an ambulance, feeling ‘vomitish’. Mervyn is waving a pistol around the Canadian High Commission, trying to get his kid a visa. The witnesses are scared to testify, but Chaminda is pressing on with the charges. More power to him.
For background, Mervyn Silva is a verbally and physically abusive man who has been kept by politicians for his connections. To astrologers, the underworld, etc. He has tried to run for office, but people didn’t vote for him. In another country that’d be (justly) it, but Sri Lanka has a national list. It is basically a high pay-off politicians can give each other – a feeding place at the trough. Mahinda has appointed his brother Basil recently, and Mervyn is another. His son has no visible means of support, besides drug consumption and possibly dealing. They drive a Porsche Cayenne and each retains a retinue of bodyguards.
Malaka is a notoriously jealous and often rejected lover, and this fight was over a German girl who’d spurned him. By fight I mean, state-supported beating. Many people sincerely doubt that there will be justice in this case as Mahinda supports this danger and embarassment to the nation, as do many people in power. Perhaps for the skeletons he hides, or the dirty work he does. However, Chaminda is pressing on with the case, as he should. Hopefully the firearms charge will stick. Sri Lankans already have little faith in a justice system where connections can so easily get you off, but this would just shatter it. Malaka Silva is a violent, pathetic criminal and a danger to public safety. Mervyn Silva is a violent, silly criminal and a danger to public dignity. Malaka Silva should face justice and his father should be stripped of his Ministry and seat in Parliament. There’s got to be one more Rajapakse to fill it.

i’ve seen the bugger in the gym – he’s not that big
but his porsche cayenne is!!!
very quiet… comes when no one is around…
minds his own business…
i support the national list though…
ppl like kadirgama would not have entered politics otherwise…
but then again you get idiots like dr dutugamunu silva becoming MPs…
the thing is the opposition leaders are a bunch of pussies who cant take mahinda on
so we’re stuck with the chinthanya!

hello Indi
you are a really good writer I am very happy my google search for Malaka led me to your sote.
Excellent stuff. I agree with everything you say. I know the man, malaka I mean. beast.
hey…i dnt want to critisise anyone bout what they have written in this blog because everyone is entitled to have there own comments.i have met malaka at the gym a couple of times and he seems to be like a good guy and total opposite of what i have heard in the news.he helps out a lot of people and is generous when it comes to been a human being.
please people, lets try to see the good in him without always looking at the bad..everyone has there faults but we should never blame anyone or harass them for no reason..
regards
sean
Hey you guys must not judge malaka. He is a real nice guy and can’t be blaamed for his behaviour cos he had a rough time in school. Malaka was a guy that used to regularly get cupped by other older boys and his class mates. He was famous for giving a great blow job. I know cos he has sucked me off many times and it was great. Malaka now wants to prove to the world that he is no longer a sissy and a tough guy. That is why he behaves like this. I feel guilty for having forced him into sex. If not for this he may have been different.
Malaka is no cup boy he tough guy, He very kind one day i am see him help old laidy cross the road. He also give 100 rupees to begger one day and buy milk for poor child. He is from very good family. He is son of doctoe Mervin Silva desendant from king Dutugemnunu. Why all of yoy tell bad about him. Girls like Me very much. Malaka fantastik lover and very kind good guy. He very handsome. People allways telling I am like movie star. All those that tell bad things about him are never do well cowards.
Both father and son are a disgrace and the fiasco at the Canadian High Commission brings shame to the whole country. I propose a public stockade with a spanking slipper in front of the Fort Railway station for both the father and son. It’s disgusting that no serious action is taken against them. But I do agree with Shehal about the National List. But the purpose of having such a list is lost when appointments like Basil and Mervyn are made. I hope that the outcome of this incident will knock off at least one of the Silvas from their high horses.
Though I am not a great fan of MR or his policies, let me tell you guys, this wanker Merv the Dutugenmunu was appointed as a national list MP by none other than the rogue queen – CBK.
He was the palace jet-setter for Bandaranayake’s acting a modern day Andare starting from AB-the clown prince, then Mama B and finally with CBK.
All those Banda clan as well as MR, is using the moron for the following duties that he is well capable of :
- destroying all peaceful demostrations like students/stickers etc., with force and arms.
- conducting all sorts of poojas for the political leadership and liasing with all sorts of kattadiyas, pusaris etc.,
- actng as the middle man in import/transporting/distributing hard drugs like heroin as well as party drugs like ectasy.
- getting a big comission from the big drug importers and giving shelter for them from police and narcotic bureau.
- acting as a god-father for underworld elements for extortion, killings and all sorts of mis-deeds like changing the land
registry and takin will of other peoples land by deception.
unfortunately the powers that be, wants Mervyn Silvas for their own survival and i doubt whatever the color, party, person in the helm of SL, there is a need for possibly few Mervyns in out present political culture.
Mervin is a Good man. He will one day be president. Allthe people will vote for him
This article is so true. Word to word.
What I still cannot comprehend is, Why did not the Canadian High Commission press charges. Surely it is independent and does not cower to Sri Lankan big wigs. Mervyn Silva entered the place with a pistol for God’s sake. Surely that deserves some kind of punishment.
I say, Go Chaminda. This maniac has gotten away with enough. He is a menace to all in Sri Lanka. Nail the ******* and put him where he deserves – Behind Bars.
The letter written by Chaminda’s brother to the president was just classic.
The real threat to the public is what appears to be a very, very pointy tongue — police should get him off the streets before he lacerates citizens using nothing but his mouth.
i think it all amounts to the shameless political system and the lame acceptence of the people in this country on party politics. This was not the first time we’ve heard a minister’s son assaulting civillians. Of course they should dealt in the same manner as it would be dealt with any normal citizen in this country. However, knowing how the systems work in sri lanka, i wouldn’t be suprised if this person roams the streets again in a few months. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes when it comes to this level(like the threats carried on the magistrate dealing with this case) and the pathetic actions of the police would ultimately see to it that mervin’s son is free again. (btw, i hate when people tarnish the name of a great king in sri lanka by calling mervin by that name)
We had a king called Mervin? Was he part of the Pervin’ dynasty?
I agree with your statement. tru malaka silva is a bloody asshole. Thats it
Well said, Indi. I’ll be expecting some violence at the house soon! Superb!!!
No one should be above the law of the land…
Malaka should face justice…
Mervin should face the justice…
The country will be better off with these two people off the streets…!
This is not the first time, normally in sri lanka Politicians son’s get more power than his father, maybe its in our dirty constitution .We all remember SB’s & Rathwattes sons, they were never convicted of any crime , so i hope this would be the same. And glad to see that u have guts to say this in public.
the coward should stoned to death as happens in the Arab countries for the deeds of cruelity against humans.
How on earth a thug like Malaka armed with automatic weapons and state sponsored Body guards amouting 10 assault a un-armed professional who just came to have his dinner and subsequently will be relased scott free.
This happens ONLY in our isle called Siri Lanka.
some really interesting reading here:
http://www.uktamilnews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=912&Itemid=1
words fail to describe the utter revulsion i feel. The Philippines was paradise compared to this. There, at least, the people got together and revolted against the powers that be. meanwhile i sit in traffic jam after traffic jam (wasting my time so these goons can drive through) waiting to have a heart attack. and what can we do about it all? nothing. just write, paint, sing or act.
Nail. Hit. Right on the head. What this country really needs is One Shot to come and instil fear and dread in all these buffoons. Malaka is a wanker. More power to Chaminda!
Makes you wonder what kind of secrets Mervyn keeps to give him this kind of tolerance. Surely even if its for thug muscle there must be better competitors. This man got barely 2,000 votes in a Colombo electorate. They must be juicy secrets for both Aunty Chandrika and the poxy Rajapakses that have to be truly scandalous in a country where supposedly bribing the LTTE is met with a shrug.
Whatever it looks like this is nothing but a part of the power game by the BIG BOSS & Co. Both Mervin and Malaka are mere pawns. It is the BIG BOSS who manipulates them.
People assume (incorrectly) Malaka de Silva beaten this guy as ‘rapid response’ but it is not. Malaka was just playing the role he was assigned by the BIG BOSS. Beating people from time to time is his JOB. It is all part of a meticulous plan.
How could BIG BOSS benefit?
(a) DISTRACTION – All news channels and newspapers (not to mention blogs) are now full of the information about this incident. If this did not happen what they would be talking about? COST OF LIVING! GAS PRICES! PETROL PRICES! Is there any better way to distract the people from an extremely sensitive topic?
(b) ‘GOOD BOY NAMAL’ phenomenon – It is inevitable that people compare Malaka with Namal. Perhaps they do it unconsciously. What would be their thoughts? “See, compared to Malaka what a good boy Namal is. He never gets into to troubles like this. He is disciplined. He knows to behave etc’ Tell me, who gets all the marks? (not to mention votes) -BIG BOSS is just playing Good Cop – Bad Cop.
(c) “I PROTECT MY PEOPLE’ assurance – If BIG BOSS wants he can easily sack Mervin. Sacking Mervin does not result in sacrificing vote banks, and I am sure UNP does not want to touch him even with a barge pole. So why BIG BOSS does not sack Mervin? Why not at least punish or publicly reprimand him? By not doing that he is giving assurance to his people that whatever they do he will not only turn a blind eye but also stand by them. Excellent way to get more support (and to attract the thugs in UNP and other opposition parties)
So please do not waste your time de Silva bashing.
MERVIN OR MALAKA ARE JUST COGS IN A LARGER MACHINE.
They are only paid employees of the BIG BOSS and Co. to do stunts like this from time to time. It is the BIG BOSS who runs the show and will be the ultimate beneficiary.
(I do not give my real name not because I am afraid of Mervin or Malaka but more because I am scared of BIG BOSS and his brothers)
Ah…… I love conspiracy theories. Tell me another one.
dont be scared. this country is heading towards dictatorship. mervin and his sons are protected whatever they do till the big man is in power. becaurse these henchayalas are helping him.
Maybe the BIG BOSS is Canada, and the brothers the US, UK, EU, JAPAN, AUSSIE, CHINA, INDIA, etc… ?
malaka, mervyn & mahinda…. mad retarded fools!!! reading about these goons make me laugh… frakking idiots!
—->>>>> to I.O Sirisena,
You sounds like having lately a smoke or two mate?
Are you OK now?
What a wanker you are in giving so conscipiracy theories.,
Peace lovers should get together and arrange a destruction of this puny bastard and the foul mouth uneducated shit of a father. Otherwise all the girls will be gone…
Hey!! Although big musketeers went to god knows what schools, Namal and Co has gone to a decent school and thus the difference in behaviour.
Malaka is an OLD THOMIAN…..
I read somewhere that the SOB – Malaka the pig is a proud product of the college by the sea in Mount, STC.
Can anyone confirm this?
Malaka is no Thomian..are you mad? That’s just a story he loves to spread. Currently I don’t remember which school he was in but I’ve met someone who was in school with him…apparantly was a real pussy and failed his OLs.
Malaka was an old Thomian. Fellow students say that he was vicious then as he is today. Only a look could fire him to a brawl.
[...] Indi.ca picks up the specific case of Malaka Silva, and the denial of justice. “Sri Lankans already have little faith in a justice system where connections can so easily get you off, but this would just shatter it.” Share This [...]
Malaka Silva has a small penis. I’ve seen it in the changing room of the Global Fitness Center on Jawatta road. Now that I’ve said it, I’m going into hiding for the next three years. Ta!
One thing I have noticed is BIG BOSS finds no dearth of white washers. The moment you say something against the guy (or son) they jump from nowhere insulting, arguing and ridiculing you. BIG BOSS is a lucky guy to have so many unpaid white washers.
Wait and see who will benefit from the whole episode.
I think Mervyn and his sons should be lined up and shot in the knee caps and made to crawl to a hospital.
Fucking asswipes!!!!!
I happened to be at Asiri when Malaka was there unfortunately. With only a scrape in his nose (which many believe he did it upon himself) the brat was in hiding at the hospital avoiding arrest with the help of his father’s doctor friend. Malaka was first put in to a room which contained air-conditioning, a fan and a TV along with the normal facilities given by any hospital. A fair maiden kept him company right through out in addition to this. Also, his body guards were seen loitering outside his door with constantly ringing mobile phones, which no doubt hasseled many a patient in the vicinity.
I truly felt sorry for the poor young nurses who had to go in to his room and make his bed on a daily basis (he didnt need any medicine as there was absolutely nothing wrong with him, other than heavy brain damage, which had no cure other than a putting him behind bars).
And lo behold! The spoiled brat changed rooms after 2 days and took in to a luxury room of the hospital! So, this is where it stands in this country of ours. Be in luxury after beating up a man with a weapon!
I hope and pray that justice is done on this idiot as we’ve had enough of him flashing his gun at night clubs. (I’ve seen him do this to my own eyes) I’m glad that Chaminda has got the spine to teach this bastard a lesson he’ll never forget, instead of being a afraid and keeping ‘mum’ about it unlike the many Sri Lankans who either get amnesia or temporary blindness when offenses like this takes place.
God bless Chaminda Senasinghe and hope he will recover fast from the nasty and inhuman assault he had to face from the nation’s political ass*ole wanker.
I doubt there will be any serious punishment for the wanker though Chaminda S. have consulted the very best of Criminal legal eagles in the country – PC’s namely Daya Perera and MLM Ameen together with a half a dozen of juniors.
In a Banana Republic like our beloved Sri Lanka, some wanker like Mervyn the Jackass can go a long way in intimidating the police invetigations and manipulating with the help of the president himself.
Just look the affidavit the German friend of Chaminda S.’s had given to the Police, she havnt seen Chaminda was assaulted in such a way to insert 12 stiches by whe Wanker Malaka as well as she havnt seen any gun involved.
Probably the bitch is dead scared of Silvas antics and if I were her, I should have told the truth with all the diplomatic cover and leave the country.
This will be covered under the carpet like Mervin who squeezed the testicles of the JHU Monks under the very parliament(some of you may call legislature) and NOTHING happened though the monks had to to hospitalized.
If this happened to the most rev. Bhikkhus (plus law makers – MP’s) in the well of the parliament who the hell is Chaminda Senasinghe ????????
Long live DUTUGEMUNU……….. as a Sri Lankan living in a much developed country, with a permanent residency, I feel sorry for my kith and kin back in Sri Lanka……….
Perhaps we deserve the leadership that we have gotten. We bitch and moan about them in private, on blogs, at coffee parties, barefoot, hijra etc etc but do we do anything about it. We should have taken to the streets at every petrol increase, at the proposed milk powder increase, at the ludicrous delegation that went to New York and spent 80,000 dollars a day when the tsunami refugees have not got housing, when IDP’s have not got basic civil rights. We have no concept of civic rights, we should be rioting on the streets now not only against MR and his despicable brothers but against almost all the politicians we have.
The rot started with the Bandaranaikes and now we end up with an intensely communal, discriminatory, thuggish banana republic. And if there is any foolish Sri Lankan who thinks we are better than an ‘African’ country, think again. We are actually at the bottom of the pile! So lets do what we do best: baan-choon through it all! Enjoy!
It says in parliament in Sri Lanka which is paid by the hard earned finances from the tax payers money is wasting about 100,000 meals done by chefs as in a 5 Star hotel a year and another six figure waste of desserts etc.,
As you know the breakfast cost abour Rs4 per member and lunch with 4 course wil cost around 8Rs inside the parliament restaurant.
Who says that the cost of living is so high in Sri Lanka????????
Go & see the parliament and see how cheap the COL in modern Sri Lanka.
Why do you ppl stay in that god forsaken country? I can’t understand it.
We stay ‘caz we dont have any other place to go! If I had a way I would have got the hell out of this place so long ago (I know most feel like I do). But we are not as lucky as some of our neighbouring countries, ‘caz here visas are most often denied for us and its so hard to find a job overseas! If you have the cash, you can certainly go in for an overseas education and then get a job there. But for some unlucky ones like us who are not as rich, and who have no power or connection for that matter…we have no choice but to be here in this god forsaken country!
Oh you should do your best to get out, lass. Sneak acrosss in a boat from Puttalam, get yourself a job as a housemaid in Saudi. Wonderful alternatives to this “god forsaken country”, no? “Most” Sri Lankans have no intention of leaving SL, as the sky-rocketing price of real estate testifies. So jobs are hard to find overseas, huh? Bloody lucky you don’t have that problem here, eh? Believe me, anyone who REALLY wants to leave can; if you can’t it’s because you’re not trying hard enough; if so, ask yourself why, and more often you’ll find that it’s not so bad here in this “god forsaken coountry” as some of us would like to make out.
Thank you for the suggestions on how to get out Mr Blacker. But you left out a very important way of getting out, if possible. That is to marry a foreigner and automatically get a visa which will enable one to get into his/her spouse’s country. How come you forgot that? ….I begin to wonder. Because I heard that many Sri Lankan’s opt for this nowadays. Maybe I’m wrong….just saying what I’ve heard!
I don’t think that was supposed to be an exhaustive list lankan lass…you could also for example apply for the green card lottery, go to university and stay on, claim asylum, swim to Aussie, the list is probably endless…
kudos on the ability to grasp irony..
Well said David. I don’t blame anybody for wanting to leave SL, but there are good reasons to stay. It’s still a relatively friendly, free and sunny island. And dull it isn’t.
What we need more than Lankans abroad feeling sorry for us, are people like Chaminda who live here (I think) and have the courage to take action against this scum. It may be futile at this point – my feeling is that the government will be able to get away with anything as long as the war is going well.
But who knows, it might just help our urban middle class find their spines – eventually. And that’ll be for the good of the nation.
Lass, as N said, it’s not an exhaustive list. For instaance I could’ve suggested that you get a job as a hooker in Amsterdam (I believe they’ll take anyone), or yes, marry a rich ol’ foreigner and earn your keep on your back (or front, whichever he prefers). So maybe you should try those (and other alternatives) if you’re that desperate to get out of here.
She didn’t really warrant all that did she Blacker?
Not sure whether “she” did, machang, but she seemed to want specific ways of getting outta here.
talk about the kettle calling the pot black…
david didn’t you marry some german tramp so you could get outta the country and then came running back when she dumped your ass…
hahahaha…
loser…
Ah, hello Vakarai/Tamilgirl/monkeynuts/Joke/Haha/Chiller/Lankanlass/etc. Sex change again? Still not figured out how to hide your IP address? Retard. Glad to hear you’re now a Sinhala lover. I heard that a lot of the NE Tamil women are getting some real Sinhaala loving in the newly cleared areas. Ha ha.
BTW, there’s really no reaason to sign off your posts as “Loser”. We already know that.
I come in again as I have to clear out what you’ve said Mr Blacker…I’m not using any other aliases other than this. Lankan Lass is Lankan Lass and not all those names you’ve mentioned above. I was only replying to Comment by ?? posted on 2007-09-22 12:33:19 and who asked “Why do you ppl stay in that god forsaken country? I can’t understand it.” (If you scoll above, you may see this). No offense, you can come out and give all those suggestions you made and I took it all good heartedly knowing the fact of your marriage to a foreigner and your trip leaving SL shores (for good at that point of time). But unlike sinhala lover, I never bothered to bring it out in public, b’cos your private life is YOUR private life, though I happen to know you somewhat. So you are mistaken Mr Blacker. I have my own identity.
Oh and btw, do check my IP address as against all those other names you had mentioned. Then you’ll figure it out, as I have my very own.
I made the suggestions, Lass, precisely because of your response to Comment. It’s laughable the number of SLers whho whine and moan on about this “god-forsaken” country, but somehow have a hundred excuses for why they still live here. Be it the fact that they can’t get outta here (though they never use their imagination to try, so it can’t be that bad) to the fact that jobs are not easy to find out there (they are if you don’t mind hard work, and can manage without daddy’s classmate finding you a job). The fact is that the people who do well outside SL are the really privileged and the absolutely under privileged. The former for the obvious reasons of their financial safety nets and the latter ‘cos they have nothing to lose and nothing to return to. It’s us middle-class who want our cushy lives both here and overseas.
Apologies if I mistook you for that idiot Chiller/Vakarai/Tamilgirl/Monkeynuts/Sinhalalover or whatever he’s calling himself lately. He doesn’t have much imaginattion and he knows it, so he doesn’t try. He just comes out with the abuse straight off. You, on the other hand, seem to prefer transparent hints and snide comments. If you are as respectful of my private life as you claim to be, why bring it up even as an aside?
Just for the record, I have no issues about people leaving SL if they wish to (for good or just to work or study). What I find annoying are the people like you who hate SL but pretend they have no choice but to stay; when in reality the only thing preventing them is their own fear of insecurity and hard work.
I am not saying that I dont agree with your judgements. But when you are an orphan and a 20 something year old girl alone in this country with no one to care for you and look out for you, everything seems very different. I do not hate Sri Lanka. I love this country as much as anyone (pardon for copying the term “God forsaken” country” from comment by?) What I hate is how people treat you. Especially when they know that you dont have anyone. Even to their own kind. Maybe this scenario is the same in the West and the East, but I will be someone, a foreign being. Who my father, mother or my family was to no one it would matter. All that would matter is who I am and what I would be. I prefer that to the constant jeering, insults, backstabbing, hurt and the using of me. This is why I yearn to leave. Not the politics, not the war, not the economy. I want to leave as I get no respect. I lie and pretend that I have a family in a foreign land just to get away. To avoid the many curious questions that come my way on a daily basis, as I am sick and tired of telling the truth, as the truth becomes my enemy in the end. But in truth I’m an orphan, abandoned by my mother and with a deceased father. I’m sorry to have commented on your private life. It’s just that I want to state that we all have different reasons, and it is always not the same.
OK, I can sympathise with your situ, and can understand the anonymity you crave, and which you can certainly find in most big Europeaan or North American cities. Colombo is certainly a tiny world. However, if you reread your original “god-forsaken” comment, you must admit that the impression you give is of hating SL and wanting to leave, but not being able to. It was to that sentiment that I responded. Good luck with finding what you are looking for.

Thanks. Appreciate it. Sometimes one do gets frustrated, when all doors are closed on him/her. Thats the reason for the original.
Does any one on the blog have any connections shady enough to bump the guy and make it look like an accident?
Dont worry the political whanker thug of Rajapaksha Brothers & Co., will get a warning from the judge whoever get this case and will freely roam the nightclubs again in Colombo.
I am a SL living in overseas with a good job/living conditions and a good night life as well, I feel pity for countrymen as you guys cannot even go for a restaurant to have a meal peacefully with this kind of political thugs who get the state protection by MSD as well as their all goons and bodyguards.
Look at that guy with the new Aston Martin
A great big house and fancy ladies
Winning the game by dropping Daddy’s name
And hanging with the other Lucky Sperm Club babies
(Also smashing someone’s face once in a while!)
The swinging king of the society scene
Gets obscene in a limousine
Charging cheap thrills full of frivolous frills
Taking lazy luxury to new extremes
And oh it must be fun
To be so wealthy, healthy, powerful, rich and young
One might wonder what he’s done
To become the fortunate one
He’s another member of the Lucky Sperm Club
The only thing he had to do was be conceived
It’s great to be a member of the Lucky Sperm Club
Living in the lap of lazy luxury
Yawee
A guy like me should be so lucky
It’s a special club for the privileged few
Not for me, not for you
It’s a wonderful life, no stress no strife
Never hurry never worry like the poor folk do
And oh it must be fun
To be so wealthy, filthy rich and young
One might wonder what great things they’ve done
To become the fortunate ones
He’s another member of the Lucky Sperm Club
The only thing he had to do was be conceived
It’s great to be a member of the Lucky Sperm Club
Born into the lap of lazy luxury
Yawee
A guy like me should be so lucky
The Lucky Sperm Club population is there by relation
They don’t fill out applications and they pay no dues
You must inherit your invitation to this celebration
And The Lucky Sperm Club band don’t play no blues
This Mervyn madness must be canned
Junior Malaka must be tanned
Its time for some action
its stranger than fiction
The Dutugemunu clan must be banned
I’m a Sri Lankan doctor currently live in Hong Kong and I was happened to be at Bistro Latino that night with my wife. I was standing outside the Club with my wife, waiting for some of our friends to arrive. I have never seen or never knew Malaka prior to this incident. Here’s is the actual story.:
When Chaminda along with a white lady was walking towards the entrace of the club, bunch of (about 4) guys from the opposite side of the street started whistling at them. Then Chaminda turned around and expressed few words with ‘em. We were standing about 20 miteres away from them and didnt pay much attention on what they were talking about. Few seconds later this bunch of guys crossed the road and came closer to Chaminda . Then it caught our attention as Chaminda was creaming in sinhaleese” Do you know who I’am, I will kill you etc etc”. At this point I asked my wife to get back into my car and I went closer to the incident.Few minutes later Malaka and 3 others came out from inside the club, walked up to the White lady who was standing behind about 5 miters away from Chaminda and started talking to her. Then Chaminda turned around and said something to Malaka. Soon after, one of the guys who was with Malaka gave a punch to Chaminda and Malaka and other two guys(who was with Malaka) started bashing him up. This bashing only tool place less than a minute and Malaka and his friends jumped in to their cars and drove away. Chaminda seemed to be fine but shaken from the incident and he turned around to the other gang and said ” I will kill you guys all” in Sinhaleese. Then the Other gang started bashing him up again..Now , That was the real bashing, Chaminda was lying on the road while this 4 guys were kicking and punching at him.At this point Malaka was nowhere to be seen and he drove off about couple of minutes ago.
My Humble opnion is this:
The actual people who did the damage to Chaminda wasn’t Malaka . It was the other gang whom he initially had an argument with. I highly doubt that Malaka and the other gang were known to each other. I never saw a gun at any stage of this whole incident. If i did see a gun I will be the first one to run away:) It was all fist fighting and kicking. I only saw Malaka himself gave only one or maximum two punches.
My conclusion is..Malaka and his father could be the biggest thugs in Colombo. But on this Chaminda’s incident, the police have got the wrong guy. I wish for Chaminda’s fast recovery and hope one day the truth will come out.
whoever call Anil who wrote the article should have been paid by the Mervyn the thug or else his buddies who are in underworld, drug business, abductions or politics.
It sounds to me that some Aliens have come into the club that day and beaten Chaminda S.
He he.. Mervin Silva will have sell 10 Porsche Cayenne’s to pay my weekly income. Anyway web troll’s like your self can join the other goons on the band wagaon. I dont give a shit.
to Anil—–>

It sounds like you have got the same qualification like your mentor Dr. Mervyn the Jackass Silva as you dont know the difference of METRE and MITER … lol (it cannot be a typo since you have mention this in 3 instances in your post).
Get a life moron !!! whatever you call as a doctor., you are not deserved to sit in front of a computer, forget about bloging !

whatever you guys have in mind, please dont ridicule a great driving machine – Porsche Cayenne.
Its pity that a moron like Malaka was the owner of this ultimate automobile.
David Blacker,
“I heard that a lot of the NE Tamil women are getting some real Sinhaala loving in the newly cleared areas. Ha ha.”
What an absolutely disgusting direction to go in. What is the matter with you?
Just adding my two cents worth. The arguement started and the German Chick actually tried to stop the fight. It lasted well over a minute. Most of the beating up was by this tall bodyguard. Malaka was involved, but he was more interested in creating an impression. But basically it was four bodyguards who did most of the beating up and damage.
Mahinda Wije’s kids, SB’s kids, Lohan R, now Malaka all get away with blue murder. They have and will continue to do so. I am not saying this is Sri Lanka and we have to put up with it, I am saying that this has become our way of life and what are we doing about it.
Obviously when Minsters kids do it yes it attracts more attention. But for the past two decades all of us have watched and let create monsters in the calibre of Nalin Fonseka, we have watched Senior Armed Forces personnel on leave going on rampage and beating people up.
We have watched and let it happen. We are also to blame. Not 50 cent, P Diddiy, tupac or US gang culture. Honestly, ours thrives much more. So stop accusing Mahinda R, this shit existed way before that.
And as for you ignorant bastards who believe the grass is greener on the otherside. Wake the fuck up, there is no better country than the Paradise Isle. Those of you who know me well know that I live in the UK not by choice and would die a thousand deaths to live in Sri Lanka again.
The fucking problem is that we can unite and have no love for ourselves.
I sincerely hope that CJ, the Honourable Sarath Silva will become President of the Paradise Isle one day. Then and only then will be able rise again as a country.
The grass may sure not be so greener on the other side…but each individual has his / her reasons to leave SL, just like you, who has opted to live in the UK (without choice as you claim).
We all are in search of better standards of living, peaceful environments and people who will respect each other. You are correct in your claim about us Sri Lankans not being able to unite, but you are wrong in saying that we have no love for ourselves. We all love ourselves with much selfishness, but we do not love our neighbour just as much. This is why when the likes of minister’s kids, politicians and even army deserters go on rampage and beat people up for absolutely no reason, no one will ever come up to rescue the victim(s), and everyone keeps ‘mum’ about it. Look what happened to Chaminda, the people who were dining, those who were working at the club and the German lady all conveniently went blind and got a bout of amnesia that night. Why? They love themselves so much that they cared nothing for a man beaten almost to death.
This case was much publicised as Malaka is the notorious son of a minister and Chaminda on the other hand too has powerful connections, coming from a well connected background. But if Malaka (or his bodyguards) beat up someone like me, it will sure die a natural death, as I have no power or connections to fight justice. This is the sad fate of our country where you need power and connections to obtain justice for a crime. (Look how Ratwatte’s so got away so easily after murdering Joel Pera out in the public, just because his father was a powerful minister at that time)
Crimes take place daily in Colombo and in the villages and the numbers keep increasing. The countless abductions, the rapes of 10 year olds and 85 year olds, the murders, the beatings. All take place and we read the gory details at times in the newspapers and watch them on TV. But its all forgotten and no one makes a noise. Why? Because most often the victms are ordinary people who have no power to claim justice.
If justice is serverd equally, I think the paradise isle will be a ‘paradise’ instead of hell. And no one will want to go in search of greener pastures, because our pastures will sure be green!
The fucking problem is that we can unite and have no love for ourselves.
So sorry, we cant’ unite was what I meant.
Lankan Lass, Lovey, completely agree with you. But do not mix fear and love. Fearing for your llife does not mean you love your life.
And as for in search of greener pasture’s – In my case this was definitely not the case.
And we all illustrate the fact that however much we rant and rave we put up with the Lohan’s, Malaka’s and abdicate violence by the very fact that we almost condone it by writing about it.
I mentioned this before in one of my post on indi’s blog, google Malaka’s name, 23,200 hits! So we have made him into what he is. He for one would have never ever dreamt of becoming as popular as he is.
Remember, negative or positive, any publicity is publicity.
And obviously a lot of people condone his behaviour. As seen from the comments on this post itself.
All I hope and pray for is that the higher you go, the more reason and harder the fall. All these buggers deserve that.
I am as guilty as any Sri Lankan for once I too chose to live my life in a similar fashion. My excuse, ‘if you do not know the right people in Colombo, it’s extremely hard to get by’. But I did it to make sure no one messed with me and I did not go around seeking trouble.
And if you look at any regular in Colombo’s nightlife circuit, either they have a deathwish or have some connection to somebody. We can argue until eternity, but it’s bloody true.
I visit the Paradise Isle at least four times a year, and I still ensure that the first people who know I am around are the connections from my past. Just in case!
nuff’ said!
And David, shush!
;-)
The “good” doctor from HK sounds a true Chinese sucker.
The German lady involved surely has no balls.
The Silvas must be exiled to Cook Island.
The Rajapakse’s? Now what do we do with them?
Couldn’t agree more with Kadalay. That German woman sure has no spine. But considering her taste in men, that is not surprising. Only a total loser would date Malaka.
She couldnt have been threatened as she has diplomatic immunity, most probably she would have been a paid a good sum.
She is an insult to evry woman. A man gets beaten because of her and all she cares is about herself. Disgusting.
Well, some women do date the car the man drives rather than the driver himself. Have you ever dated a Porsche, Kella?
No way, I have way too much self respect to do such a low thing.
Well said Roshana…I guess all women are not the type to fall at Malaka’s feet! Certainly not me…eventhough the brat sent one of his bodyguards with a note to me once when I was having coffee with some friends at the Deli France. Luckily for me, one of my friends intervened and gave him a piece of her mind. She told him off by saying to have the balls to walk over to a woman and ask her out instead of sending notes through his security goons! Aha! And you should have seen the look on his face! Apparently Malaka’s wild side only comes out when he’s under the influence of alcohol (and what not). When he’s sipping coffee…he’s like a rat…he didnt even know what to say to save himself that day, but just mumbled a “it wasn’t me” (maybe he took lessons from Shaggy!).
Glad to note that you two gals are not like the German hussy. Jokers like Malaka should be put away forever. There’s no place in any society for their breed, be they descendants of Dutugemunu or Elara.
Shayani wickramasekara
i’ve met malaka at one of my friends parties and he seemed to be like a really
nice guy.he knew my friend erick who was studying with him in the states and
thats how i got introduced to him.i really dunno if this whole fight issue
really did happen and i was surprised to see that the guy was chaminda.chaminda
is one of my older brothers friends and he used to be a real jerk-off.he used to
start fights in cascades for no reason and hit one of my close friends called
lasith and then went to the states for sometime.
malaka is a alright guy to talk to and well mannered.i think the authorities
should look into the background of chaminda and im sure then they will
definitely find out what sorta guy this chaminda senasingha really is..

Shayani’s comment intrigue me. Did I meet the wrong Malaka Silva then? Maybe there is someone who disguises himself as Malaka and attacks men who go about with women. Maybe thats the Malaka I saw some months back at H2O showing off his pistol to all and sundry and acting as if he owned the world. Maybe that same Malaka bashed Chaminda and made it look as if the ‘nice guy’ Malaka did it (or as per Shayani’s comment, Chaminda may have bashed the real Malaka..the well mannered one, making him take refuge in a luxury room at Asiri Hospital, just for a scrape in his nose)
What a splendid story this is turning out to be! Alfred Hitchcock anyone?? Will the real Malaka Silva please stand up???
Maybe it’s really Dr Silva & Mr Malaka?
I dont know about Malaka. But Chamainda Senasinghe is no monk. He used be involved in many fights in the Cascades Night club back in late nineties when I was a manager there.
according the act 134 of the judicial law system in sri lanka,it is clearly stated the a person who is charged with a offence cannot have their freedom of speech or freedom of free movement restricted. Then how is it possible that malaka silva was banned from entering nightclubs and on what basis did the judges make this decision.if he was to be restricted in this manner, the case should have gone to the supreme court and should have been decided by the chief justice himself, but then again who can have faith in the supreme court as our very own chief justice was caught with his pants down with a lady and got away with it thanks to the same faulty law system in which he is the most powerful member of.
And Malaka is hiding in an ambulance, feeling ‘vomitish’:
HAHAHAHAHA!
I somewhat agree with the previous comment made in this regard.first of all, how is it possible that malaka silva was given restrictions like this even before the end of this court case,he was not convicted!and also what sense does it make to ban him from all nightclubs when this incident happened in only one club.if the respective club, bistro latino did not ban him,why did the judges do it?
restricting malaka from entering nightclubs is a brash violation of human rights and i firmly think that the supreme court should intervene and remove this ridiculous clause.
i would like to end my comments by saying that if malaka silva has commited a crime and if the court of law proves it without a doubt, then he should be penalised, but not now, when he has not even been proven guilty.
Just read in a UK paper for Sri Lankans that the High Court has given Malaka permission to travel to the UK for higher studies!!!!
if ppl have heard of malaka they will knw about his best friend rehan wijeratne. he is another mnisters son who acts like gods gift to earth. always following malaka to mount lavinia hotel and spending like fools and going around in new vehicles they go to night clubs like kings and harass innocent people. he is just as bad as malaka and acts just as stupid as malaka. both of them should be shot
yes indeed gamage, i have heard about this fellow also, has a big head and thinks he can do whatever he wants with malaka, both of them went to st.thomas so no wonder they are like that, i think this rehan drives a prado always with malaka at delifrance and their fathers are best friends, he uses body guards and has been in a court case also, what a fool, both their fathers should be stripped off their ministries and sent back home, what a disgrace, not only did we have to read about malaka , now there is a new kid on the block
I agree unduly with gamage. On a recent night, we were enjoying a drink at the shine night club (opposite St. Bridgets Girls School) and it must have been around 2AM when the club manager abruptly asked us to clear our table as a VIP guest was on his way and that we were sat at his table. Now we got there at around 11pm and there was no reserved signs and had to scamper to get the table as the club was very crowded but only to be kicked out of our comfortable seats to a smaller table 3 hours later. Well the VIP guest arrived with his impressionable posse and when I asked around I was told he was Amila Fonseka. I dont know what he but what gives him the right to a table at 2AM over us who were there at 11PM? It is ppl like this Amila Fonsekas, Malaka Silvas, Rehan Wijertnes that spells the doom of a fair democratic future.
Amila Fonseka is nothing compared to the rest mentioned here, so Amila Fonseka got a VIP table WTF?? Atleast he doesnt go around beating people up for no reason
i love mervin silva and tha malaka silve
