Nothing beats the immediacy of live theater (when its done well) - may be other than good conversation. But conversation doesn't have the formality of a play - the whole stage/actor/audience thing - which gives it an added power. Screen based media frees (forces?) live theater to survive by being interesting. Screen gazers are perhaps more sensitive to the power of live theater - assuming that there's a compelling story to be carried through with good acting. Bad acting and poor scripts have few places to hide these days.

The last time I saw a live theater (due to the logistics of life) was almost a year ago. In a small theater just enough to hold 20 within touching distance of the actors. It was good enough to remember the slap of feet on the old cement stage. Clearly I don't have the cred to back up my cheering. One good piece of theater can do that to you.

Chatroom seems like a good one. So least one of Indi's reviews has sold a potential ticket.
