it wont work for long. you were not here but in 1994 cbk got 60 something % and failed in one year and just stayed there doing nothing. this buffalo fellow has .29% majority and a minority government how long will he last. so cheer up it’s going to be a fun year.

Ranil is the closest thing we have to a statesman, but he seems to be seen as too cerebral, too intellectual, to be appealingto the masses. He is a thinking man, one who can really take this country somewhere, there is no one else in the political arena that comes even close.

The UNP can probably win an election is they appoint strongmen like SB or Sajith Premadasa or even a thug like Thilanga Sumathipala but these are just right wing versions of Mahinda. They will be more business friendly, but will not be able take us onto another level.
