The Iraq flag does look like a shoe. This is a metrosexual version from D-Squared (on sale at eBay).

This is weird, cause I usually steal headlines shamelessly from Wonkette, but this time I actually know the guys selling the shoe. It’s weird cause I read Wonkette everyday, and all of a sudden something I’m a part of is featured there.

Iraq-flagAs for background on the flag, it’s designed by Rifat Chaderchi, brother of another guy on the Governing Council, which incidentally chose the flag. The blue lines represent the Tigris and Euphrates, and the yellow is for the Kurds. The Daily Show has a very funny send-up of the flag fiasco, along with a new national anthem. Apparently nobody really likes it. It does kinda look like the Israeli flag, but what I don’t like is the yellow, and the bottom orientation of the stripes. It really does look like a shoe.
