–Exchange between Richard Ben-Veniste of the 9/11 commission and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, April 8, 2004.

Q: Isn’t it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6th [Presidential Daily Briefing] warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?

A: I believe the title was, “Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States.”

Now, the…

Q: Thank you.

A: No, Mr. Ben-Veniste…

Q: I will get into the…

A: I would like to finish my point here.

Q: I didn’t know there was a point.

A: Given that — you asked me whether or not it warned of attacks.

Q: I asked you what the title was.

A: You said, did it not warn of attacks. It did not warn of attacks inside the United States. It was historical information based on old reporting. There was no new threat information. And it did not, in fact, warn of any coming attacks inside the United States.

Remember the Nuremberg trials? What we need in this country are the Washington D.C. trials. Trials that bring the murders of the present government to justice. Starting with the president and down through the congress. When the government uses lies and starts a war of killing innocent people in a country thousands of miles away without real justification or threat to the nation then that government should no longer hold the trust of the people.
We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union need representatives that do not start wars by lying and deceiving the people they represent. Once this country stood for honesty above all. This was the reason we could hold the trials of Nuremberg. We sat as the judges of the Germans who committed atrocities against other human beings including Germans who opposed the regime of the Nazis. Yes we defeated the Germans and we had might on our side, but we were upholding the basic principle of honesty.
Now our government started a war on the premise of lies. Lies about weapons of mass destruction. Lies about wanting to spread democracy. Lies about wanting to bring peace to Iraq. Bring peace by bombing, killing, destruction, and even
annihilation of anyone who opposes this government’s way of thinking. Too keep the citizens of this country from revolting the government continuously spreads rumors of fear throughout the country. This government controls the media, a reporting body of journalists who make the Nazis regime and their propaganda tactics look childish. An example; before the war began, the media hyped the idea of, “Shock and Awe” as the coming of the messiah. It was the coming all right. The coming of evil and hell for the Iraqi’s. The world watched as the country of Iraq was bombed and destroyed, but not into submission and the American Mission is still not completed. Another lie, “Mission Accomplished”.
Now any Iraqi who stands and opposes the Americans is, “subversive”. The, “subversive people”, of Iraq are killing Americans and the Iraqi’s who are joining the Americans.
What were Americans called who joined the British during the revolutionary war? I think they were called, “TRAITORS”.
Now the American citizenry has been led into an unjust war and we are all guilty for the murder of innocent human beings in Iraq. No justification can clear this guilt.
In order to return our country to the path of honesty we need to bring the current government to trial. Just as we brought the Germans after the second world war to trial in Nuremberg.

Angel: I like paper planes and that’s about it. The super Bowl thing was just a pathetic (?successful) attempt to get some publicity, IMHO.

the way of the dodo: madonna is the possibly the great example of an artist creating controversy to sell music. Infact her theatrics warrant a lot of merit than her music.

the way of the dodo: does she even make her music. All i hear is a hodge-podge of stuff mixed together. Beatles didn’t have to create controversy to sell albums, their music was absurdly good and absurdly popular even when they were squeaky...
