I read a book a day here. I just run into them, in piles on the floor on bookshelves. They’re all interesting, collected by my parents. I read The Namesake, which Tha bought in Dubai. About this kid Gogol who changed his name to Nikhil at 18, just as I changed my name from Jit to Indi. And ended up in a Rabbit at Rest skid in middle age, which I don’t intend on doing. Funny how he started as he started as the main, sympathetic character at the beginning and then ended up static and peripheral. Like, you’re the center of everything as a child. then you grow up, your body falls apart, your family dies, then you. That suffering is what the Buddha left his family to end. But anyways.
One night I couldn’t sleep and I read Subu’s biology textbook. Did you know that sweat contains small amounts of urea? Sorry, um, did you know that the heart can’t use all the blood rushing through it? It has external veins that give it blood. When those arteries get clogged you get heart attacks.

Sri Lankan domestics never say anything, they just stop coming. My maid just stopped coming and when I finally pressed her she said I needed to get a washing machine. I was hoping to ride this one out, but I’ve run out of underwear and I have no choice. I finally caved and bought a washing machine, from 
when are you coming back to your canadian home? i am still not back, but in vancouver it has snowed like it hasn’t for many many years. i stopped in for a while in LA due to weather conditions in salt lake, and am again stalled due to weather on the south coast of BC. there are only 37 plows here in the whole city – compared to 260 in Toronto. i miss Montreal. do you?
