Looking for Khalil Gibran on the Metro
I was trying to research the city of Orphalese (from Khalil Gibran) when I chanced upon a sweet Metro Map of Montreal. The guy (who quoted Gibran) made a map with thumbnails from each station. You click on the station and you can see photos of the station and read about it. His site is very information rich and intuitive to navigate.
The Montreal stations are cool cause I live here, and cause each has a unique artistic design. It’s all very 70s, but I dig.
These are the Metro stops close to me
Sherbrooke and
St Laurent
St Laurent’s a ghetto-ass station. You see the back right corner of the station? It always smells like pee-pee there.
Sherbrooke is much nicer. Here’s the caption to this photo: “A large mosaic, on one wall at platform level, commemorates the St-Jean-Baptiste Society, whose headquarters are nearby. By Vau and Bastien, it recalls the society, symbolized by its patron saint, and its contributions to the academic and cultural life of Quebec.”
